As the middle member of a three generation ophthalmology family, I believe in the old fashioned way of practicing medicine... the "Marcus Welby" model. By spending adequate time with all my patients, I can establish an ideal doctor-patient relationship. I always allow as much time ... more... as is necessary to personally listen to their problems. Then I take a detailed medical history and do an extensive ophthalmic examination. After that I thoroughly discuss my diagnosis so that my patients understand their condition and treatment options. Then I answer all their questions so that they leave my office with a feeling of complete satisfaction. In today's model of " mill medicine" where patients are rushed through an office, seeing endless technicians, staff, etc. and then get only a few minutes time with the actual ophthalmologist, patients are left with a feeling of depersonalization.
