Finally had to address my wisdom tooth issue as the pain was becoming unbearable, and friend recommended Dental Arts after having a good experience there. Luckily, they were a short walk from my house and when I arrived, the dentist (Alexander) saw me right away and did a great job fixing me up! The staff was also friendly, competent and the place was very clean (that's important to me). What can I say, very pleased with my experience and just a few blocks from home- what's not to like?

First, let me just say that I generally hate going to the dentist, but my experience at Dental Arts was not what I expected (or am used to). Friendly, very professional and they really put me at ease. The dentist who saw me, Alex, was so relaxed and conversational, I forgot all my anxiety and the procedure itself went very smoothly. A note to other dentists: we're often anxious enough as it is, try not to make it worse by having in-office squabbles or indifferent ice queens at the front desk.

When I told him my problems he shrugged his shoulders and didn't know what to tell me. He recommended me to eat sour patch kids. Right after he was accusing me for my old dentist not catching cavities. He was very rude and did not seem to be helpful to my problem. It was as if he was going out of his way to use his knowladge. He looked at me for an answer, I am not the one who went to school to be a dentist. That's why I went to him. I was not pleased. Other reviews had me excited for this dentist but I would truly steer clear if you want real expertise and guidance.

Great staff. Nice office. Dr. Duka was nice, professional, and made sure to thoroughly check something that was a potential issue in an x-ray (turned out it wasn't!).

I don't normally leave extremely negative reviews for Doctors, as I understand the difficult job they have. But in this case, I feel obliged. I went to the Dr. to start what I knew would be an extensive treatment process on my teeth that were admittedly, in bad shape. I made it very clear from the beginning that I have a severe phobia of dentists and asked that he respect that and talk me through the process. That request was not met and I still had to ask the Dr. to stop rushing and explain to me my options for a treatment plan. When I sat down for my root canal, I was drilled without being fully numb, which I understand can easily happen, however when his colleague came in to administer even MORE novacaine, he performed an easy test which indicated that I was DEFINITELY not numb. Why on earth that test had not already been done on me, I have no idea. Fast forward to yesterday morning when my tooth broke, after the temp filling had been slowly falling out. I went in for my scheduled crown placement appointment and notified him of the fact that it had broken, and was immediately told that it needed to be extracted. As for the "bedside manner" and attempting to put your patients at ease... Atrocious. At no time did the Dr. mention that the crown needed to be placed soon after the root canal, and the appointment was set for three weeks after the root canal. After leaving the office and immediately getting an appointment with another dentist, I now know that there were several precautions that were not taken to protect the tooth from breaking. I was also made aware of the fact that the tooth CAN be salvaged and I do not have to loose it. Lesson learned to always get a second opinion when you do not feel confident about the person you are entrusting your health with. I wish I had done that sooner.

The best dentist experience I've ever had. First, he offered to work with me after I explained that I didn't have any insurance. He then offered to take an x-ray at no cost. After seeing me, he explained my options and made recommendations, outlining the pros and cons. Once I decided, he fixed the problem in record time and actually made the experience pleasant. (Yes, I actually was laughing with my mouth open!)For the first time in my life, I can now go to the dentist with less dread and greater comfort.

Dr. Duka was a great dentist. He was very knowledgeable and explained every step of the procedure. He had state of the art equipment and the facilities were very clean. He even saved a tooth that a less experienced dentist would not have been able to. I had no pain during the procedure... a little sore after but that is to be expected.

I made my appointment online (which was so nice and convenient) and saw Dr. Duka the next day. I was really early for my appt. and got taken in no more than 10 minutes after I arrived. I was out of there within 10 minutes and I am very pleased with the results!

As a child I used my uncle as a dentist. Since he retired many years ago I never found a dentist as compassionate as he , until now ... Dr Duka was fabulous and his staff is wonderful. I highly recomend his office.

The hygienist was really very sweet and listened to my concerns about my tooth sensitivity. The cleaning was very thorough and I felt like she took the time to really do the job properly. I only saw the doctor for a few minutes, but what I did experience was very pleasant.

A colleague recommended Dental Arts to me almost a year ago, and after having tried their services for the third time, I'm glad I dumped my old dentist. First, the place is clean, has modern equipment and is well-staffed. The hygienist has given me two cleanings to date, and *wow* the work she did was very thorough; your teeth really feel and look clean afterwards. I've also had some filling work done, but it was practically painless! Finally, the people here are very friendly and put you at ease, which is very important to me. If you hate going to the dentist (like me) and have been putting it off for a while, do yourself a favor and give these nice, professional folks a try, you won't regret it.

I found the Dental Arts Manhattan practice and Dr. Alexander Duka through ZocDoc because it is easy for me to get to 14th Street. I made the appt on line and that was easy. When I arrived I was made to feel very welcome by the receptionist & saw that I was in very attractive offices with a beautiful aquarium and interesting original works of art throughout. I was prepared for a wait but could only enjoy watching the fish for a few minutes because not very long after a dental assistant with a big smile escorted me to a pleasant room & set me up & offered me the cable tv remote & took x-rays. Minutes after, a smiling Dr. Duka came and introduced himself we chatted for a couple of minutes & he advised that I had just 1 cavity. As he worked on it, I studied him and somehow felt assured I picked a good dentist. It was painless & over soon. I walked out of there feeling better about a dental experience then I ever thought I could have. I don’t know of anyone that really likes to go to a dentist but I was pleased that I did not have to wait long, that the office did not have that strong medicinal smell and that Dr. Duka gave me a level of confidence made me feel relaxed on the dental chair. I have a new dentist now and look forward to going back for a cleaning and getting a better look at that art work and the aquarium.

Great service - awesome staff. After walking in, I immediately noticed a beautiful fishtank, then was ushered to a room - seldom are offices run so efficiently. The office was clean and up to date with the latest technology including large flatscreen TVs. The hygienist was thourough and friendly throughout the cleaning. Dr Duka reviewed my records and made some honest suggestions. I never felt rushed or pressured during my visit. Seriously, if you've been looking for a new dentist then Dr. Duka is it.
