Dr. Barry Jacobson is an experienced, well-respected, and board-certified specialist in dental care for children. Dr. Jacobson is also a pioneer in the field of
pediatric laser dentistry. Beginning practice in 1996, he was the first Pediatric Dentist to standardize laser dentistry for children in his practice. Using advanced Waterlase® laser technology, Dr. Jacobson can now complete procedures in minutes instead of hours. It is always Dr. Jacobson's goal to provide children with a trauma-free dental experience; laser dentistry is an important tool that helps him meet that goal. Dr. Jacobson has found laser dentistry to be so beneficial that he now lectures and provides instruction on the subject to dentists from across the country.
As the director of pediatric dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, Dr. Jacobson actively teaches postgraduate dentists and performs complete dental rehabilitation on children under general anesthesia. Dr. Jacobson is also director of pediatric dentistry at Palisades General Hospital in New Jersey, where he operates on children under general anesthesia. Dr. Jacobson uses both conscious sedation and general anesthesia to help children with traumatizing dental fears obtain the care they need.
Dr. Jacobson is the former director of pediatric dentistry at Downstate Medical Center and an assistant professor and clinical instructor at Maimonides Medical Center, both in Brooklyn, New York.
