Dr. Hershkowitz took the time to explain what needed to be done and why. What I like best is the way he explains what he is doing and what I will feel as he is working on my mouth. He knows I am skittish and preparing me for what I will experience ahead of time helps to alleviate my fears.

Dr. Hershkowitz is a great man, I needed a good amount of work done to my teeth and he walked me through the whole process and sees me on the regular to make sure everything is in tack. He has a great knowledge of many things beyond dentistry. He has a genuine care for his patients and will extend a hand of friendship along with the great dental care. His hours are great and he works in a very efficient manner where he respects everyone's timing! His secretary Donna is always willingly to answer any questions you have and always makes sure to send you reminders when your appointment approaches. Shannon is another vital part to the office, she is the Doctors assistant and Is very nice and is always doing everything to the best of her ability like the Doctor himself! Everyone in the office has a great chemistry that really blends well and the end result is a better experience for their patients.

Dr. David Hershkowitz graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1972, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Columbia University in 1976, and was awarded his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1980. He has been in private practice in the Bayside area for over 30 years.

Saw Dr. Hershkowitz for the first time for a checkup and cleaning. He was friendly and thorough. However, what irked me was he and his staff tried hard to get me to make a second appointment for additional dental work. The upsell was suspicious so I checked out a different dentist for my next checkup. Lo and behold, I was told by the new dentist that my teeth were fine and saw no need for what Dr. Hershkowitz suggested. I'm glad I got the second opinion and won't be seeing Dr. Hershkowitz again.

The dental hygienist was wonderful!! Very gentle and showed me how to properly floss. X-rays were done quickly. The dentist I thought was very nice. He recommended I have a gum procedure done and was very persistent in scheduling my appointment. I scheduled a day to come in for the procedure, however it was on a weekend which we had a blizzard. His secretary called me from her home to reschedule appointment (at this point I started to think they were pushy.) I ended up canceling the rescheduled appointment and never rescheduled after that. The doctor himself left me several messages and I had to block the number because he called so often. A few weeks later I got a bill for not canceling my appointment.
I would NOT recommend this dentist to anyone!
