Dr. Winford is a board eligible orthodontist and is certified to treat adults and children utilizing conventional braces, Invisalign and lingual braces. Her goal is to treat each patient with the utmost care and to provide them with the best result possible.
Dr. Winford earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The University of Tennessee where she graduated magna cum laude and was honored with multiple accolades including the American Student Dental Association's Award of Excellence, the American College of Dentists Dean's Leadership Award, the Dental Scholarship Endowment Fund Award, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship Award, and the Doris Costello Bowyer Memorial Scholarship Award. She was also honored at graduation by being inducted into the Dean's Odontological Society.
Dr. Winford then pursued her postdoctoral education at the University of Florida where she completed an Orthodontic Fellowship. She was part of a team of doctors at the Craniofacial Center. She was involved in the treatment of advanced cases including cleft lip and palate patients as well as craniofacial anomaly patients. Dr. Winford continued her studies in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Hospital in New York where she received her specialty certificate in orthodontics.
Dr. Winford is an active member of many leading dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, New York State Dental Association, New York County Society and the Charles Tweed Foundation.
