Professional Statement:

Melissa Tuft grew up in Palo Alto, California. She had braces as a young adult, beginning her appreciation for straight, clean, healthy teeth.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at U.C. Santa Cruz, and went on to study dentistry at U.C. San Francisco, graduating in the top 10% of her class.

Dr. Tuft has been practicing since 1983 while remaining active in a number of cosmetic dentistry study groups and continuing education programs at U.C. San Francisco and University of the Pacific (Art Dugoni School of Dentistry). As a U.C. San Francisco Dental School faculty, Dr. Tuft teaches and supervises dental students providing dental care for the homeless.

Dr. Tuft is certified for Invisalign® and is a "Preferred Provider for Invisalign for 2010" — invisible braces — attaining Level 2 Certification, the highest level of training available to general dentists by Align Technology.

Dr. Tuft enjoys her off time with her two daughters, working out, traveling and horse back riding.
