I was impressed that she proactively contacted my insurance and had my costs documented and ready for me to review before performing services. She clearly explains what she'll be doing, and she's committed to having your visit be as comfortable as possible.

She was very professional and explained her recommended treatment in detail.

I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and was worried about what problems they might find. Dr. Gilman was very calming and informative in explaining what I had to have done. My first procedure which she explained would be the worst of my treatment plan did not hurt at all and was 1/100th of the pain I expected, and her charges are very reasonable. I wish I had gone to see her sooner.

She was kind and she helped me work out an financial arrangement because of my no insurance. I have already recommended her to another person. She is my wife's dentist and my wife couldn't say enough good things about her.

I've been in the Bay Area for six years and have been dissatisfied with every dentist I have been to until now. Dr. Gilman is friendly without being patronizing, straight-forward without being insensitive, smart, and confident. You can try to find a better dentist in the area, but you won't.

In general I had a pretty good visit. I'm usually nervous when I go visiting dentists but Valerie Gilman, DDS made the whole experience a lot easier. Thanks for being such kind and happy person. It helps calming down patients. Also, she explained in details everything she was doing - which is important for me. Thanks for that.

I hadn't been to the dentist in about four years--one of those situations that just gets out of control, you keep meaning to go, but the more you put it off, the more dread you feel, you know? Well, Dr. Gilman was The perfect dentist to see. She didn't scold, was as gentle as she could be during the exam and cleaning, and kept emphasizing what I was doing well in terms of my dental care. She did line up her concerns and did so in terms of what she considered immediately pressing, what needed to be watched, and what I might want to think of down the line in terms of care. And then she revolutionized my toothbrushing. 31 years and I've been doing it wrong--who knew?!

Dr. Gillman is my first dentist I've seen since moving to the Bay Area and she's absolutely fabulous! She was everything I expected and more. I immediately liked her warm personality, and I appreciated that she explained everything while never being condescending. I definitely made the right choice!
