Dr. Yi-Ling Shiao DDS

Everyone was really nice, and the facilities were excellent- vibrating exam chairs were a huge plus after a long day. Their extended hours are also really convenient.

Very clean office and friendly staff. It was a quick visit but didn't feel rushed at all. I felt very confident in the Dr and her assistant was very helpful and professional.

I've been going to Dr. Shiao even before they moved to their swanky new office. She's absolutely great. Some dentists like to use dental hygienists to perform the routine cleanings, however, Dr. Shiao likes to do it herself since she can ensure the quality of the work as well as check for problems as she's cleaning. This cuts into her profit margins obviously, but she's great in that she puts patient care ahead of her bottom line. She also takes the time to explain to you with diagrams or pictures the cause of any problems that you may be experiencing. I have some gum recession; she has a periodontist that comes in twice a week so I will make an appointment to see her soon. This is a full service office. Oh, back to the office, it's completely renovated. Great looking space, the chairs have MASSAGE functions (YES, MASSAGE!!!, while you get dental work done), wifi coming soon, and a tv in each room. Most enjoyable dental visit ever. Now if only they can just give us a magic pill to give everyone pristine teeth, but then again that would make dental visits completely unnecessary and Dr. Shiao would have alot of free time on her hands.

Very fast and did not have to wait at all during the entire visit. The dental chair doubled as a massage chair for optimal comfort! Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back every 6months for my routine check-up and cleaning!

Excellent doctor. Root canal procedure was pain free and easy. Atmosphere of the office and professional attitude of the doctor and staff really put me at ease. Sparkling new office with high tech equipment in the space with skills to match. Definitely recommend this doctor.

I felt very comfortable from the minute I entered the office. There were nice touches - massaging patient chair, moist towelettes to cleanse my hands and a friendly, helpful staff. I would highly recommend Dr. Yi-Ling Shiao.

I had a emergency (cracked tooth) around a few weekends ago and this was the only place that was seeing patients that Saturday so I made an appointment. The office is located a couple blocks away from grand central station in midtown. Went in for my appointment, waited for about half an hour while I filled out the paperwork. They proceeded to take digital x-rays and the doctor proceeded to give me an examination. It turns I needed a root canal. They made some temporary crowns for me on same day and completed my root canal and permenant crowns over then ext couple weeks. The couple different doctors who saw me made sure I was comfortable and tooke their time to explain my conditino to me. They were very upfront with the cost and explained everything in the treatment plan on my first visit. The procedures were as painless and stress free as it gets - much better than my previous experiences. This office is modern and high end - flat screen TVs and dental chairs with massage features. They even gave you hot towels as you wait for doctor in the chair. I'd recommend this office to my family and friends.

I had to go in for a minor dental emergency; my dentist wasn't available for several days. The staff was friendly and professional, and Dr. Shiao was great. She explained my options, did the work and got me out of there quickly. If I didn't already have a dentist I was happy with, I'd definitely see her again. Highly recommended.

Dr Yi-Ling was such an awesome Dr. She explained everything that was going on and what would be taking place. I can finally say I enjoyed my time at the dentist.

This was my first visit to Dr. Shiao after chipping a tooth over the weekend. She X-rayed my tooth and suggested bonding to correct the somewhat minor chip; procedure was performed on the spot in 30 minutes and the results are flawless - it looks as if nothing happened to my tooth! Will definitely be returning to Dr. Shiao for future work.

The staff was nice and so were the doctors. I'd love to say that I found a great dentist but they were average. Dr. Shiao was ok. You may be seeing other people at her office though and they're about the same quality. The office is outdated and a little shady. Be very clear about pricing and insurance -- they may say they accept it but it's only the half-truth. More often than not you'll get charged much more than expected and they don't take insurance payments fully for certain types of insurance. What could be seen as a red-flag would be their reviews on other sites that don't monitor the reviews so anyone (ahem like staff/friends/family) may be posting unfounded fantastic reviews. They're not bad - just undeserving of glowing reviews. A tepid 3 stars is about right.

Yi-Ling was great. She would see me right away. She is very quick but in an efficient way, rather than being negligent. There is no judgement, and she simply tries to help you understand the problems. I also had a visit with their specialist, who was great. The entire procedure was accomplished with little to no discomfort.

She was quick and efficient! I can't believe I found a dentist I like on the first try!

Dr. Shiao was friendly, responsive and clear. I've since been back twice, for a filling and a crown, when I met two other doctors in her practice, who were equally impressive. The office is well run, in addition, and a good find in midtown.
