Administratively: This was my initial visit so I had to complete a lot of paperwork, but I could have done the paperwork ahead of time online, which would have made my wait time much shorter. Most of the paperwork was done electronically on a tablet, which I can access at any time through the patient portal on their website to make any changes or updates between appointments. The scheduling process was efficient and could be done through ZocDoc website or through the office's website. The Visit: The patient room was really nice and comfortable. The medical assistant was thorough with her questions regarding my condition and symptoms. I saw Dr. Steele-Griffin in a reasonable amount of time once the assistant noted everything. She reviewed the information I reported and asked additional questions, and based on her visual and physical exam along with the information I gave her she was able to make a diagnosis for my conditions and prescribed medications and reviewed the treatment plan with me. Dr. Steele-Griffin also explained the reason for specific things within my treatment plan, as well as, the type of result we should expect to see. In addition, because one of the medications that were prescribed was so expensive, they gave me a discount card to help offset the cost of it, which was extremely helpful because it was very expensive even with having insurance to cover some of the cost. The Cons: The only issue that I had with my visit was trying to get in contact with the medical assistant regarding my prescriptions when there were issues with what was prescribed and what the pharmacy carried. It took an additional two days before I received the medication; because of the delay in the pharmacy getting the necessary information it needed by the office. Additionally, once I received my other set of prescriptions for my condition, I was unclear on how to use them properly together and what was for what, so it would have been great to have some instructions from the physician on how she wanted me to use the two products together and how each product should be used since the two items had similar usage directions. It made it unclear for me once I had both of them. I was given instructions when she reviewed my treatment plan, but it was not clearly, what the name of those products was once I picked them up from the pharmacy. Overall: I had an excellent visit with Dr. Steele-Griffin. She is a very caring and compassionate physician. She took her time with me and was thorough and knowledgeable about her specialty field. I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing good care and expert advice in the area of dermatology. I will be going back for a follow-up visit in two months, and will update my review if need be.
