WAIT TIME, OFFICE, and STAFF: As a new patient I arrived on time, not early, for my appointment and the reception staff was very courteous and friendly. The office was clean and inviting. A contractor was installing a new 'Stoll Medical Group' logo above the reception desk, so I don't know how long they have been in this location. He was finished by the time I left, and it looked nice. I would give the contractor 5 stars, hah. By the time I was finished filling out the necessary paperwork (which was quick and painless) I was called in for my appointment. I waited no more than 5 minutes. The nurse who took my vitals was very friendly as well. I was given an iPad to take a quick survey on the symptoms of depression, which I thought was actually a nice touch from a doctor who seemed to care about the mental well-being of his patients. Or maybe he's getting kickbacks from all the anti-depressants he prescribes. Kidding. As I finished the survey, Dr. Stoll entered the room. Overall I would say that I never had to wait idly at any point. DR. STOLL: Dr. Stoll is a, seemingly, very young Jewish fellow, although I don't really know how old he might be. While it's true that wisdom and knowledge can come with experience, there is something to be said for a young doctor who still has the passion and enthusiasm that some lose after they've been practicing for 30+ years. Stoll had that passion and enthusiasm. He was very friendly and almost to the point that I would say he was too friendly and that it may have even felt a bit forced, but it didn't bother me. After some conversation about myself and my career we got down to my symptoms and diagnosis. He was very knowledgeable and I appreciated the straight forward answers he gave me to all of my questions. There was also no sugar-coating so he was upfront about the recovery time and challenges that I would face. He talks quickly which might bother some, but not me. Overall I was with him a short time, but primarily because he diagnosed me very quickly and I felt confident and reassured in his opinion. I asked many questions and he answered each one to my satisfaction. NEGATIVES: Two things to note here. First, he uses a scribe, which was a cute young girl with a laptop who recorded notes of our consultation. No indication whether or not she was any sort or medical professional. Now, as a young man I personally didn't object to having the cute girl in the room to take notes and my particular ailment was nothing embarrassing, but I can imagine a scenario where one might have to discuss, say, an STD or something more personal that would make the situation uncomfortable. Second, he had what appeared to be a really bad case of dandruff. I mean, it could have just been something else that landed on his head that morning but I was pretty sure. Now, I didn't judge him for this because, come on, even doctors have to deal with their own health issues and that's nothing that cannot be managed. However, if it turns out to be recurring and poorly managed I would find it a bit unsanitary and unprofessional. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt this time. CONCLUSION and RECOMMENDATION: If you've made it this far through my review, thank you and congratulations - you have an excellent attention span. I paid Dr. Stoll one visit, so you may want to take this with a grain of salt, but I highly recommend this physician and will likely use him as my primary moving forward. If you've read the review there is no reason to reiterate what I've already said. Have a pleasant day and I wish you the best. Get well soon.
