What is a Dietitian?
Dietitians develop and oversee the preparation and service of healthy food for both individuals and communities such as hospitals, nursing homes, and schools. Dietitians work to provide nourishing and safely-prepared meals (often designed around specific diets). They can also work to educate others about good nutritional habits, and sometimes perform research studies. Dietitians work alone or with doctors to help treat conditions such as diabetes and obesity. Although they are sometimes confused with nutritionists, dietitians receive more specific training, including a bachelor's degree and an internship in dietetics.
