Saw him initially through a Zoomcare clinic for a unrelated Derm question and he was really great and helped me out. When I needed to setup my new dermatologist in Portland since I recently moved here, I looked for him due to my past positive experience.

Dr. Loyd is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. A native of Oklahoma, he attended the University of Oklahoma, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Letter/Classical Studies. He also received his medical degree from University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2005, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Loyd completed an Internal Medicine internship at the University of Oklahoma, followed by a Dermatology residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina from 2006-2009. He then completed a Dermatopathology fellowship at New York University.
Dr. Loyd enjoys spending time with his wife Ania and daughter Sophie. He is an avid bicycle commuter and his hobbies include architecture and botany. Dr. Loyd is looking forward to his life and career in his new hometown of Portland, Oregon.

Today was my first time seeing Dr Loyd and he was 20 minutes late for an early morning appointment. He didn't acknowledge or apologize for being late which simply lacks respect. I felt that he was rushed and a bit patronizing when I asked questions. I genuinely like all and would highly recommend all the other providers in this practice but I won't return to Dr. Loyd.

Aaron Loyd is great but his assistant had a cold. It was obvious she was congested and said it was "going around". In a physicians office I feel that most patients would prefer someone with a cold to either stay home or be wearing a mask/gloves. The assistant also had fingernails that were noticably in need of help. They were chipped, worn and looked unclean. People notice these types of things and it is a reflection on the physician and his or her practice.

Prompt service, efficient screening, almost no waiting for Dr. Loyd, who was very professional, direct, informative and clearly explained process/procedure. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes and that included unplanned procedure to remove a problematic mole.

While I've had good experiences with other doctors at Knott St, Dr. Lloyd's attitude came across as "why are you here wasting my time." He gave an extremely cursory look at my skin. I never understand why doctors treat people who are trying to take care of themselves, preventatively, as if they are a waste of time.

Overall, I just didn't think he cared. When I told him my scars had been there for over a year (more like eighteen months), he seemed really doubtful of that and suggested I keep doing my current treatment which I have been on for about 18 months.

He took the time to really check me out. I am 83 and have extensive sun damage. He did not scold me but gave me helpful info and a prescription to take care of some of the damage. I have been to two other dermatologists this past and they kind of shrugged me off. Thanks to all of your staff for the kind treatment.
