Dr. Alan Antonelli is a gastroenterologist and internist serving the Fresh Meadows community in Queens. With a friendly and accommodating staff, Dr. Antonelli works to make each patient feel comfortable and cared for. He strives to maintain a culture of professionalism, and performs a number of specialized and uncommon procedures, including parasitology (a test that screens for parasites).
Never content with a single facet of medicine, Dr. Antonelli holds a jam-packed roster of leadership positions. At St. Joseph's Hospital, Dr. Antonelli serves as the crucial Director of Quality Assurance, to ensure that patients visiting the hospital are getting the best care possible. He also serves as clinical instructor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and is chairman of the accreditation committee at Catholic Medical Center.
Dr. Antonelli began his career in medicine at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, where he earned his MD. He came to New York for his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and bonded with the city for life. In addition to his leadership positions, Dr. Antonelli held a prestigious fellowship in gastroenterology at Mount Sinai.
