In addition to being a Board-Certified Primary Care practitioner, I also offer Convergent Therapeutic Services, like acupuncture, manual medicine and specially designed dietary and nutritional protocols.
I have strategically developed a platform of service based on the Micropractice model so as to assure a more efficient system of patient care and a more dynamic and cohesive relationship with my patients. Working with ZocDoc has successfully made this possible!
When you meet me at your first and subsequent visits, most of the time, I will be the first one you will see greeting you at the door! More and more doctors are foregoing the larger ancillary staff for the more personalized approach. At times there might be unforseeable emergency calls. I appreciate your patience.

Dr. Bain is a very good doctor and is very knowledgeable.I went for a follow up and he answered all my questions as always. He is very thorough and explains things in a manner which I can easily understand.He truly shows that he cares about his patients progress and recovery.
Dr. Bain is unlike most doctors I have seen. He spends a great deal of time and he truly wants to help you with your problems. He is the opposite of most practices. His goal is not to maximize the number of people seen. It is to make sure you are healthy and on the right path. I truly appreciate that care and attention.

Today was my first visit. I am a new patient. I liked his concern about my health. He spent his time with me (without charging me) explaining me his approach and his responsibility he assumes by taking me as his patient. I believe he is the doctor I was looking for .

Dr. Bain is a special doctor. I feel like he really cares about me and listens to my concerns.
At first I thought Dr. Bain was really odd as he seemed to jump around a lot from topic to topic, but after five minutes with him I could tell he was really interested in learning about me. Plus he is really funny. Instead of just telling you what your diagnosis is and what you should do, then pushing you out the door he was really interested in hearing what you would like for treatment (i.e. medication vs. holistic medication, or no medication at all) and working with you to set up a program to address it. My only recommendation would be for him to be more upfront at sharing his expert recommendation. He completed all those years of school, so don't be afraid to share those thoughts. He has a lot of great ideas that I never knew were options.

When someone needs a doctor to truly evaluate their thyroid or other hormone issues, Dr. Bain is the doctor to see. He treats the person not the numbers. Too many people are held hostage to effective medical care for supplemental hormones because their doctor will look at their result and say, "you are in the range, you are fine". That could be further from the truth. If it were, why have the ranges changed so much over time. Walk away from a doctor who ignors your symptoms. Go see Dr. Bain and watch your health improve the way it should!

I read in reviews that he's a little quirky and yes he is, and it's refreshing. my feeling is that he's brilliant. I love that he doesn't have layers of staff in front of him like other doctor's offices. If you are used to the standard BS from most doctors, you'll be pleasantly surprised with Dr. Bain. I have been seeing Dr. Bain for 5 years. He has helped me in many ways. He has found many abnormalities on bloodwork that others failed to find because they didn't know to look. He is extremely intelligent and doesn't give up. I am an RN and know many doctors and have seen many things in my 30 year career, so I don't impress easily. He gets me. He has balanced my hormones, found food allergies, chronic infections and got me on the right dose of thyroid hormone, added supplements for adrenal (which traditional md's never do). I suffered with chronic illnesses for a long time til I met him. He has a very caring heart, doesnt dismiss your symptoms or complaints, and is like a detective, painstakingly looking for the cause of your illness, not just dishing out more pills to cover up your symptoms. He also is educated in complementary medicine so he can tell you what vitamin or herbal product is right for you if needed. He always discusses things but you work as a team. None of this "I'm the doctor so I know better attitude". He is very gifted. Thank you Dr. Bain.

This is not your average physician - he is very open to alternative medicine and ideas and is able to give a much broader opinion. He is quite quirky though do be prepared for that.
His approach seems flexible, which probably improves results but takes a little more getting used to.
So far I am very impressed by my experiences with Dr. Bain. He has been very inquisitive about my health in order to figure out what can be done for me to feel better. I have never had a doctor so genuinely interested in the information I tell him about my health. I also really appreciate the fact that he sent me home with a copy of my lab results and encouraged me to make my own decisions about my health. He is very informative and he walked me through my lab report test by test to explain what each number meant instead of just giving me a summary diagnosis. He diagnosed me, but he also made sure I understood how he reached that diagnosis. That was a new and pleasant change from most health care professionals I have seen.

It was actually my previous visit, when I received osteopathic treatment to my (arthritic?) shoulder, that was most impressive, but this latest appointment usefully continued our discussions and increased my understanding of what he thinks are the best approaches to my situation.

Dr. Bain is awesome. I think I have been seeing him for 4 years now...maybe 5 years. I have very complex health issues and am so glad I found him. I only continued to get worse under the care of other doctors. I have gradually improved under Dr. Bain's care. He is very thoughtful and constantly researching and networking to make sure no stone is unturned in my treatment considerations and to make sure diagnoses haven't been missed. He is also one of the very few doctors who are open to my input on my treatment. I also see Dr. Bain as a general physician. He is wonderful. :-)

Well, Dr. Bain knows what he is talking about that is for certain. I think he wants to get at the root of my problem not just apply a bandage. He was open to my comments and feedback regarding my health, which I thought was great. He was pretty thorough and spent a good amount of time talking to me. We'll see how things go.

Dr. Bain can be rather eccentric at times, but his ability to think outside the box is priceless. His patients are a clear priority --all of them. Since, he is singularly running the operation, some interruptions are to be expected... Nonetheless, the wait may be well worth it to those who have been disappointed with other physicians. I would rather deal with him than the blatant arrogance of other less worthy physicians. Dr. Bain has found several issues that never would even been screened for by others. He is honest, compassionate, and will truly listen to your perspective. If by happenstance, you are lucky enough to have befallen upon his name, you will not regret it. Good health is often taken for granted, but dearly missed in its absence...
Dr. Bain is a very caring, knowledgable, insightful doctor with many areas of exptertise and reaches out to use other professionals to obtain additional professional advice and insight. In terms of patient satisfaction (caring/concerned doctor), when he was in the office with me (the patient) he was answering phone calls and possibly replying to emails from other patients. This was after I waited a long while in the lobby while he was with another patient, then took time to answer questions from other patients via the telephone. (In my job, I respect my clients time and focus solely on them and respond to my other clients outside of my other in-person appointments.) I may recommend Dr. Bain (still unsure); he seems forthright and will let one know what he feels. Every doctor that I've seen in the Chicago area... Hardly any of them have been on-time even though they note in their policy that they will charge the patient if being late. Because Dr. Bain doesn't have additional staff to just stick a patient in a room, we wait in the lobby. This is much more human friendly then sitting in a stale room. Plus, because he is so "nice" and not charging his patients for their phone calls, emails, etc. he is overwhelmed; hence, demonstrating that his patients are his priority. Most doctors wouldn't accept to "consult" unless they are in the office being charged. Because I've only had "consultations" with him, I cannot provide an opinion about his practice yet... I do know that I was hoping I would have had a better thought/feeling about the visit. How much time/money do we put forth before we make a decision to try to find a doctor that may help us or just let us know if they can help us?
Dr Bain is great, well trained, up to date and able to think outside the box as well.

Dr. Bain really wants to look at the "big picture" with your health. I think the patient needs to be in this frame of mind as well to have a fruitful visit. He is knowledgeable and genuinely interested; my only hesitation is sometimes he interrupts or does not let me finish what I am saying (but that could be because I am getting off point). The location is great, the hours are great; overall I'm very pleased with having Dr. Bain as my primary care physician.
Dr. Bain takes a holistic approach to the patient. He listens not only to symptoms but to what the patient feels is wrong. He has corrected a thyroid problem no one else would bother with, and I am feeling good for the first time in 15 years.

He's such a good doctor. Unfortunately, I didn't know he doesn't take HMO anymore. I just switched and had I'd known... that wouldn't have happened. He still gave me options and was willing to work with me. I've been with him since 2006.
