He is a really interesting man with a lot of knowledge. One thing i really liked about him is that he is really focused on really understanding his patients in order to give a really thorough recommendation for a course of action that is best for their overall health.

He's the best, most personally invested, physician I've ever met.

Dr. Bain has a communication style that I would generously describe as scattered. He bounced from one topic to another and often interrupted me. He may be a very good doctor but I was unable to find out as his communication style is extremely off-putting and I will not be seeing him again.

I've been seeing Dr. Bain for about two years already and he is just wonderful. He listens to you and he does care, he wants you to feel good and healthy. Last time I was there he truly worked magic on a horrible pain I had. I left the office without any pain at all, I never experienced that with any doctor in my entire 38 years of life.

I have been seeing Dr. Bain for a number of years. Having been diagnosed with a thyroid condition, he was the only doctor who listened to me and treated me and helped me feel better instead of just trying to make the numbers on my labs fall within a "normal" range. He treats the whole person and for that I am grateful. If you're looking for a doctor who will truly try to find the root of your problems and treat that and NOT just mask symptoms, he's who you're looking for. My condition has recently changed with my thyroid and Dr. Bain is leaving no stone unturned. I know he will figure this out and will get me back to feeling good again soon.

I very ill one day and made an appointment to see Dr. Bain the next day and it turns out - he was ill as well! He had his assistant call me to tell me of his sickness and I still wanted to see him so he came all the way into his office to see me. He still asked all the right questions, he had all the right concerns, he wanted me to know what kind of doctor he is and had excellent bedside manner. I would HIGHLY recommend this doctor to anyone searching for a doctor that cares about their health.

Dr Bain is extremely thorough and nonjudgemental. If he is running behind, he comes out to the waiting room and checks on you and lets you know how long he will be.

Dr. Bain is a special doctor. I feel like he really cares about me and listens to my concerns.

At first I thought Dr. Bain was really odd as he seemed to jump around a lot from topic to topic, but after five minutes with him I could tell he was really interested in learning about me. Plus he is really funny. Instead of just telling you what your diagnosis is and what you should do, then pushing you out the door he was really interested in hearing what you would like for treatment (i.e. medication vs. holistic medication, or no medication at all) and working with you to set up a program to address it. My only recommendation would be for him to be more upfront at sharing his expert recommendation. He completed all those years of school, so don't be afraid to share those thoughts. He has a lot of great ideas that I never knew were options.

When someone needs a doctor to truly evaluate their thyroid or other hormone issues, Dr. Bain is the doctor to see. He treats the person not the numbers. Too many people are held hostage to effective medical care for supplemental hormones because their doctor will look at their result and say, "you are in the range, you are fine". That could be further from the truth. If it were, why have the ranges changed so much over time. Walk away from a doctor who ignors your symptoms. Go see Dr. Bain and watch your health improve the way it should!

I have been seeing Dr. Bain for 5 years. He has helped me in many ways. He has found many abnormalities on bloodwork that others failed to find because they didn't know to look. He is extremely intelligent and doesn't give up. I am an RN and know many doctors and have seen many things in my 30 year career, so I don't impress easily. He gets me. He has balanced my hormones, found food allergies, chronic infections and got me on the right dose of thyroid hormone, added supplements for adrenal (which traditional md's never do). I suffered with chronic illnesses for a long time til I met him. He has a very caring heart, doesnt dismiss your symptoms or complaints, and is like a detective, painstakingly looking for the cause of your illness, not just dishing out more pills to cover up your symptoms. He also is educated in complementary medicine so he can tell you what vitamin or herbal product is right for you if needed. He always discusses things but you work as a team. Dr. Bain is by far the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I truly believe that people would never fear doing to the doctor if they could have a Doctor like Dr. Bain. He is simply wonderful!

Doctor Bain is always helpful and very efficient in covering everything I need during every visit.

Finally a doctor that is figuring out my complicated health and thyroid problems- I am so relieved that he has already figured out more than other doctors have throughout the past 3 years. He is easy to talk to and listens to my symptoms instead of looking only at lab results. He really has a passoniate approach and genuinely wants to help you. He takes a less traditional approach than most doctors- but he definitely knows what he is doing. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent Doctor. He listens to me and has successfully diagnosed my issues and fixed them. Other doctors have dismissed my concerns and were content to increase my medications rather than try to address the real issues. Thanks to Dr Bain I no longer suffer from migraine headaches. Dr Bain is a nice, easy to talk to professional whose medical knowledge is extensive and up to date.

He took up a question I had been thinking about without my asking it - good to work with somebody like that. "On the same page," and so on.

Very laid back informal atmosphere. Makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to avoid the normal formal hospital type setting.

He listens to your problem and is determined to find an answer

This is not your average physician - he is very open to alternative medicine and ideas and is able to give a much broader opinion. He is quite quirky though do be prepared for that.

His approach seems flexible, which probably improves results but takes a little more getting used to.

So far I am very impressed by my experiences with Dr. Bain. He has been very inquisitive about my health in order to figure out what can be done for me to feel better. I have never had a doctor so genuinely interested in the information I tell him about my health. I also really appreciate the fact that he sent me home with a copy of my lab results and encouraged me to make my own decisions about my health. He is very informative and he walked me through my lab report test by test to explain what each number meant instead of just giving me a summary diagnosis. He diagnosed me, but he also made sure I understood how he reached that diagnosis. That was a new and pleasant change from most health care professionals I have seen.

It was actually my previous visit, when I received osteopathic treatment to my (arthritic?) shoulder, that was most impressive, but this latest appointment usefully continued our discussions and increased my understanding of what he thinks are the best approaches to my situation.

Dr. Bain is very good at getting to the source of problems and not just giving you medicine for symptoms.

How wonderful to find a doctor that really cares and knows how to dig down beyond the surface and find the real answer. Lucky for me!

Dr. Bain is awesome. I think I have been seeing him for 4 years now...maybe 5 years. I have very complex health issues and am so glad I found him. I only continued to get worse under the care of other doctors. I have gradually improved under Dr. Bain's care. He is very thoughtful and constantly researching and networking to make sure no stone is unturned in my treatment considerations and to make sure diagnoses haven't been missed. He is also one of the very few doctors who are open to my input on my treatment. I also see Dr. Bain as a general physician. He is wonderful. :-)

Dr. Bain is always trying to get to the root cause of the problem. He listens to your symptoms and will not just treat the symptom, but he will find out what is causing your symptoms, ultimately leading to a cure or treatment plan.

Dr.Bain is lovely, caring man. He can be quirky at times, but that is why I go to Dr.Bain. He does not offer a cookie cutter approach to my health. Most important, I always feel as though he is listening to me as I describe my health concerns.

Dr. Bain is so far from typical, I'm finding it difficult to comment. I'd give him six stars across the board if I could. Remember to bring any history (blood tests, x-rays, etc.) with you on your first visit.

Dr. Bain is a great doctor and a wonderful man. Finally, someone who will listen to my complicated list of problems and wants to work with me. I really feel like I am going to get my health issues under control with the help of Dr. Bain. He cares! Finally, I have found a doctor who cares. A rarity!

I always enjoy my visits with Dr. Bain. He takes the time to address my concerns and I feel like we really work as a team to achieve my optimal level of health. He has been the only physician in the past 15 years who has been able to "cure" my allergy problems!

It is rare in Chicago to be seen by the main doctor for the majority of your visit - but with Dr. Bain he conducted the entire appointment. I was able to start my appointment early(!) and his diagnosis was accurate. Thanks to Dr. Bain I'm all better!

Dr. Bain and I are "old" friends. I've been seeing him for several years. I have recommended him to others several times over the years.

I thought he wonderful yet delightful. I have been to a dozens of doctors and he is the only one that didn't just look at me and say "something wasn't wrong" and is actually taking further measures to see what's wrong.

Well, Dr. Bain knows what he is talking about that is for certain. I think he wants to get at the root of my problem not just apply a bandage. He was open to my comments and feedback regarding my health, which I thought was great. He was pretty thorough and spent a good amount of time talking to me. We'll see how things go.
