Very professional and a good, knowledgable doctor

I felt extremely uncomfortable with my entire experience at this office. He was unclear about the entire process of getting contacts, how many visits are required before he would write me a prescription, and he pushed me to purchase contacts directly through him, to the point where I felt uncomfortable and like I couldn't refuse. He did this all in a way that made me feel that he was trying to cheat me into getting the most money out of me as possible-- and receptionists all seem to be "in on it" as well. No one would give me a straight answer. Negative experience, and I would not recommend to anyone.

He was very attentative and took his time with examination. I highly recommend.

Dr. Kurfirst was very professional. The eye exam was quick and easy, he spent time listening and answering all questions asked, he addressed the problem right away. The visit was enjoyable and he's great at what he does.

It was fine until they wouldn't give me my glasses prescription, therefore forcing me to buy glasses from their expensive and limited options. I had to argue to get them to give me the prescription and even then they would only send it to me in the mail. They would not hand me the physical prescription.

Honestly, this was the BEST eye exam I've ever had. Dr. Kurfirst was the first ever optometrist to walk me through my options with lenses and glasses, explain exactly what was wrong with my eye and didn't force any products on me. He actually introduced me to a new type of lense that has completely revolutionized my sight, where as old doctors kept prescribing the same, never taking the time to ask what I needed. Would recommend him to anyone and everyone!

He was awesome! I've been going to the eye doctor since I was in 3rd grade and I've never had such a great doctor. He explained everything, made me feel really comfortable and I left really feeling like my eyes are in great hands. He's not just taking a one-size-fits-all approach, but is really tailoring my contact lens and glasses experience. I highly recommend him!

I've been going to doctor Kurfirst for 20 years. That probably says it all, but the service here is great: friendly and efficient. They have a great selection of glasses, and they take the time to find the best pair for you; the turn-around time is also very fast. Dr. Kurfirst is kind, thorough and cautious, and I wouldn't trust my vision to anyone else.

He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Right away he figured out that the problem with my eyes wasn't my vision, but my contact lens brand. He did a very thorough exam and all kinds of tests. Definitely felt like he listened to me and wanted to help.

Very personable. Took time to explain everything from my eye condition to what he was doing as I am new to having vision exams. Learned I need glasses. The staff was excellent in helping me choose a frame that fit my face well. All so new to me and a great experience overall. Dr. Kurfirst came highly recommended to me by a friend who is a patient as well, and I'll definitely make the same recommendation to others.

I've had recurrent eye issues that 3 other doctors could not cure. Dr. Kurfirst performed an extremely thorough exam using latest technology. He was interested in my eyes history and my overall health, was knowledgeable and overall I felt that I finally found a good ophthalmologist. Conveniently located next to Grand Central!
