Dr. Alexis Jimenez is an anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain physician. He received his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He started his post graduate training with a General Surgery internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Following this, Dr. Jimenez completed his Anesthesia residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, where he was elected as Chief Resident. He then went on to complete an Interventional Multidisciplinary Pain Management fellowship at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN (ranked at the top of the pain management programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report). Dr. Jimenez specializes in interventional and non-interventional pain treatment modalities. Dr. Jimenez is proficient in interventional procedures including intrathecal drug delivery devices trials and implants, spinal cord stimulator trials and implants, peripheral nerve stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, occipital nerve block, sympathetic celiac plexus block, sympathetic stellate ganglion block, lumbar sympathetic nerve block, sympathetic superior hypogastric nerve block, ganglion impar block, cervical epidural steroid injection, thoracic epidural steroid injection, lumbar epidural steroid injection, facet joint injections, medial branch nerve block, caudal epidural steroid injection, trans foraminal epidural steroid injections, selective nerve blocks under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance, discography, continuous catherter nerve blocks, sacroiliac joint injectins, pyriformis muscle injection under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, Botox injections and ultrasound guided joint injections. He has advanced training on treatments for conditions such as arthritis, cancer pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), diabetic peripheral neuropathy, hip and leg pain, knee pain, low back pain, motor vehicle injuries, neck pain, pelvic pain, phantom limb pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, sciatica, spinal stenosis, vertebral body fractures, and whiplash pain, among others. Dr. Jimenez has expertise in all the areas of chronic pain and his advance training and special set of skills allow him to provide the best care possible to each patient. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
