Was my first visit, so we sat for 15 minute to chat prior to exam, which I liked.;While I'm a healthy guy, everyone is unique and it demonstrated that she understand patients are customer first. Exam was thorough and she demonstrated an understanding that patients live outside the office, rather than 'lab rats' in a vacuum. They have an online system, for records and communication (love) but she makes clear that we both use the phone if anything needs serious attention. Staff are both kind and efficient. I have found my NYC doc after 12+ years of 1-off appointments. Go see her - you will be happy you did!

Alison Amsterdam is phenomenal. She's efficient, helpful, obviously cares about her patients and funny too. I always have a little anxiety going to doctors and avoid it in general as it can be a de-humanizing process. Dr.Amsterdam was so kind and helpful, which makes a huge difference in how comfortable I feel being pro-active about medical issues. I've avoided finding a primary physician in NYC since I moved here two years ago and now feel foolish as it's reassuring to know you have someone you trust to turn to in the event of a medical issue. I'm so lucky! She's the best.

So personable and easy to talk to. Asked really good questions and really listened and provided good feedback. Gave me a lot of comfort (especially since I'm a hypochondriac). Extremely knowledgeable and provided good advice for next steps. I highly recommend her.

Wow. WOW! I am simply blown away. Dr. Amsterdam is fantastic. I want to speak in superlatives. This was my first physical in a while, and I was on the nervous side. I'm pretty healthy--just an anxious patient. Dr. Amsterdam and her staff were just stellar. Everything was explained, I was never rushed, and the bedside manner was amazing. I really appreciated the thorough exam, and the conservative approach. Any issue was met with a relaxed response--never an alarmist push to run to another doctor or jump on the prescription bandwagon. If things could be addressed with other approaches, we discussed those approaches. Also, a very fat-friendly and LGBTQ-friendly office and experience. There were no assumptions, just open questions. Very cool. Can't say enough good things!!!

Dr. Amsterdam is knowledgeable but very approachable. She made herself easy to talk to and helped me understand as well as treat what was wrong with me. I would highly recommend her. I also like the digital test results.

Dr. Amsterdam is amazing! She explained everything and made sure to answer all of my questions. She was very focused on my experience as a patient and did her best to make me feel comfortable and supported. She referred me to a specialist for one issue and he was fantastic as well. I would recommend Dr. Amsterdam to any of my friends!

Friendly and thorough. Talks everything through with you quickly but in a way that you immediately understand as a lay person. That makes the visit brief but you leave with all of your questions answered.

Dr. Amsterdam was very approachable and straightforward, staff was friendly and kind. it's a "digital practice" so you can get all your test results online, email with the doctor, schedule appointments, etc.

Very impressed by and grateful to have seen Dr. Amsterdam today. Her and her staff are very easy to talk to, not to mention, her responsiveness to my symptoms was a very logical, balanced, no bs plan. Great office for 20 somethings, because all of your records are electronic, if you get labs done - you get to view them online on a secure page as soon as they are available. Thanks.

Thorough, caring, complete, nonjudgemental. She completely assessed all of my medical needs. She's extremely honest, and if you're honest with her you will get the best care possible. And if she cannot manage your problems she knows the doctors that can. Glad I stumbled across her as my doctor.
