I am a Cornell and NYU-trained, Columbia-affiliated psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience practicing psychiatry in Manhattan. I am devoted to the well-being of my patients and am confident I can help you.
My style is warm, engaging, and personable. I work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and many different walks of life, including executives, technology specialists, entrepreneurs, artists & entertainers, academics, medical professionals, students, and full-time parents. Entering treatment can be an intimidating process, and I have successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.
I completed internship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and residency training in adult psychiatry at the prestigious Payne Whitney Clinic at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where I was chief resident of the inpatient unit during my fourth year. I went on to complete additional training in forensic psychiatry at NYU Medical Center while establishing a private practice in psychiatry.
In addition to my practice, I am a devoted educator. Since completing my training, I have taught courses and supervised physicians and medical students from New York University and Columbia University. I am currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Among other distinctions, I received the Nancy CA Roeske Teaching Award, awarded each year to a psychiatrist who has made outstanding and sustaining contributions to medical student education, in 2014.
I offer expertise in treating a variety of diagnoses and difficulties and look forward to helping you feel better. You can find more information about me and my practice at www.drguptapsychiatry.com. …
