Patient Reviews for Dr. Arash Akhavan - MD
great!
Very Thorough and really nice staff.
Always a pleasure!
Efficient but attentive as usual - I feel very confident in his suggestions and the care I recieve in the office.
Not only a good doctor, but a good human being. Listens to the patient, and explains clearly.
Dr. Akhavan was extremely patient and attentive. He took his time examining me thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and repeated instructions on how to use the medication he prescribed to me when I asked him to.
He was very professional and empathic and really knowledgeable. He took time to explain things properly.
He was so helpful and took his time to answer my questions even though it seemed like a busy day. Easygoing but very professional, a good and empathetic listener. I am very very happy to have found Dr. Akhavan!
Excellent visit as always! Dr. Ahkavan is very knowledgeable and professional.
Doctor is very thorough about explaining the problem and pleasant to talk to.
Dr Akhavan was thorough and very professional. I didn't wait long and I was very pleased with the appointment and his advice.
Dr. Akhavan understood that I'm extremely sensitive to a lot of astringent topical applications. This translates to: I can't use chemical heavy stuff! So- he decided to go with a more natural approach with my prescriptions. I didn't think doctors did that these days, what a rare fella! Thanks a bunch.
He was a pleasure to work with, very knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable.
Dr. Akhavan was pleasant and he didn't keep me waiting more than 10 minutes, but he also seemed to zoom in and out of the office before I even noticed he was there. He looked at my face up close for MAYBE 30 seconds, then he had his assistant write my prescriptions. I guess I should have paid attention to the fact that he has 15 minute intervals for appointments. Overall,he seemed to be okay, I just wish I didn't feel so rushed.
He was very informative and took the time to explain the treatment approach and answer my questions about hair loss. I didn't feel like he was rushing me out to get to his next patient, which is pretty typical these days.
Good contact. Open, easy to talk to.
dr listens and treats each patient as a person. very good md! highly recommended
Probably the best dermatologist I have come across in the past 10 years here in NYC. Dr. Akhavan is very knowledgable, patient and very informative. I high recommend his services.
I went for an emergency session as I have a business trip coming and a huge pimple on my cheek. For me availability was key, but I read several reviews and Dr. Akhavan seemed good. He was very personable, gave a lot of advise, gave me some samples of a cream to try and then did what i had come for, inject Cortison into 3 cysts. The only negative I have to mention is the grumpy receptionist. I was already distressed, i did not need anybody make me feel like a non person. For heavens sake, smile! It won't mess up your hair....
Highly recommended! Dr. Akhavan is professional, knowledgable, and was great with me from a patient's perspective.
Dr. Akhavan is exceedingly friendly, reassuring and seems very knowledgeable.
My visit was very satisfactory.
Dr. Akhavan was friendly, helpful, and seemed to really know his stuff.
I do not usually write this things but he's just excellent!
Great doctor. Nice, clean office. Nice nurse.
He made me feel very comfortable and was very informative. I will recommend him to my friends.
Dr. Akhavan was great. He took his time, truly listened, and gave thoughtful suggestions and responses. He both put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable while in the office. I was also seen right away.
This is my second time to see Dr. Akhavan. Excellent both times!!!
My second visit with him. Great again!
I've seen him 3 times in the past, and he's good at what he does. Visits usually are much longer than my visit today. I went for a mole screening, but it was about 5 minutes long. Last time it was a bit longer, but no biggie. I have a feeling that he was rushing because the person who was scheduled before me was running late, and got there when I got there. He has great bedside manner though, which is hard to come by these days. One thing that I do think needs to be worked on is the front desk. They are very curt, not friendly at all really. You could be standing there at the window for a good 2 minutes before they acknowledge you. Maybe they need to hire another person to lighten the load?
Fast, very professional and spends time walking you through your condition. Best doctor I have seen in NYC.
My first visit with Dr. Akhavan was great! I was quite nervous to find out the severity of my skin condition, and when he evaluated me he never made me feel horrible. He was warm, genuine, calm and took his time to explain his findings. The trust in his diagnosis and treatment was immediate. He answered all of my questions, and remained focused on me - not the papers in front of him, or the next patient. I truly enjoyed my visit, and look forward to my visits in the future!
For some reason zoc doc didnt work and I wasn't in the Dr's appointment book for the day. That said, they still accomodated me on-time and without any complaints. He was the best dermatologist I have seen in NYC. Did not feel rushed and took time to listen to my concerns and addressed them. Would definitely use him again in the future.
Great dr. Highly recommend him..
Great experience. Really knew what he was talking about. Took a lot of time to explain my medications to me- even showed me how to use them on his own skin!!! I really liked him and would definitely recommend him.
Dr. Akhavan was very knowledgeable and had a calm, comforting demeanor. The visit wasn't rushed and he went over all my questions. He offered sound medical treatments and not ones that would just make money. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Akhavan was very pleasant, helpful, and calming. I have been seeing dermatologists since I was a teenager and this was my best experience by far. His nurse was also very nice. Highly recommend!
This was easily the most pleasant meeting I've ever had with a doctor. He listened and asked questions, responded with thoughtful treatment options, and even has a pleasant sense of humor. As he warmed up with me, I felt more comfortable. I will see he again to pursue the treatment options he recommended. Oh, and he does cosmetic dermatology, too, so if you're interested in Botox or lasers, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Akhavan.
