Professional Statement:

Dr. Atul Kukar completed his undergraduate education from Georgetown University and earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with honors as a member of the Psi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.

He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He was selected to be one of the Chief Medical Residents and then went on to complete his training as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt in 2007. In 2008 he completed his fellowship training in Interventional and Peripheral Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Kukar has been recognized for his endeavors in teaching, research, and the care of his patients. He participated in the publication of numerous abstracts, review articles, book chapters and manuscripts during his fellowship and continues his research today in the field of Interventional Cardiology. He received an award as Fellow of the Year in 2004 and has been nominated for multiple teaching awards including the Arnold J. Gold Foundation-Resident Teacher Award from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Kukar is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology.
