Dr. Carol Livoti MD

I have been looking for an OB/Gyn in NYC for a while. Most of the ones I have had appointments with before were very young and starting out in their careers. I really wanted to find a female doctor who had more experience and was better able to understand a wide range of issues. I am very pleased to have found Dr Livoti. (already recommended her to a friend)

I'm so happy that I found Dr. Livoti! She was wonderful and really took time to talk to me and made me feel comfortable. Her staff was also amazing!

Dr Livoti is amazingly personable and made my husband and I feel like we have a partner to work with throughout the pregnancy.

I arrived few minutes late and then ended up getting pushed back (so make sure you get to your appointment on time!) However, the nurses and Dr. Livoti were very professional and willingly answered all of my questions, and gave me a referral for a (female) gastroenterologist. Very patient and thorough in questioning and giving advice.

Dr. Livoti is fabulous.

She is a great person, very knowledgeable and nice to deal with. Showed interest and I will definitely go back and recommend her since it's so difficult to find great doctors who make you feel like everything will be alright.

I was very uncomfertable at my visit with Dr Carol Livoti due to the fact that her sectary was present in the examination room while being examined.

Dr. Carol is a very professional doctor and I felt that she took the time to explain everything and answered all the questions I had. I also liked the girls in the reception, they were all very sweet and welcoming.

She was great! She was thorough with questions and was very funny. I was pretty comfortable with he.

Professional bedside manner, albeit distant and a bit stoic. Spent a good chunk of time waiting to see her, and then waiting for the exam. A bit left to be desired in terms of office space.

She is very clear and gives good explanations of anything that may be going on with your exam results. She has a sense of humor that more conservative people may not love, but works for me. The office could use a little more privacy (solid doors instead of french doors with curtains).

She was so nice and her staff was so friendly. I really trusted her opinion right away and could tell she was concerned with my overall well-being not just her specialty. So glad that I found her!

I have been a patient of Dr. Livoti for over 30 years. I travel from NJ for her. If she wasn't such a great doctor I would have found someone closer to home long ago.

I absolutely love her! I've been looking for a gyn doc that's concerned about her patients for a long time. I also was pleased with her assistant as well. The interior of the office is beautiful and comfortable.

Dr. Livoti is fantastic! She's incredibly nice, thorough with taking a history and great all around. I'm glad I found her!

I have been using Dr. Livoti for over 20 years, delivered all my babies! She is an amazing person as well as top notch doctor !!!!!!!

Her office is full of her degrees and accolades as well as pictures of her husband and daughter. I loved it. It showed me a little of who she was. I wasn't just looking at someone in a white coat telling me what to do. I was looking at an experienced Dr, mom, and wife. The girls that work in the office were super sweet, and made me so comfortable being there. I was there to confirm that was in fact pregnant with my first baby. I went in feeling super nervous and left with a huge smile on my face. I wish she still did obstetrics so that she could deliver my baby... but I trust that she will help me find the right Dr for that. In the mean time she will see and care for me until we make that transition. I couldn't be happier.

Great, no-nonsense, wise woman. Great consultation/practical advice for health and well-being in my mid-40s with no judgments on not having been to a doc in a while. Thanks Dr. Livoti!

Dr. Livoti is a positive spirit and you can tell she cares about your comfort. It was awkward however to have others in the room during examination -and not to mention the see-thru curtains in the examination room. No sense of privacy.

Dr. Livoti is easy to talk to and takes all the time that is needed for the consultation.

Not sure the office was as clean and tidy as it should have been. Have been to Dr.Livoti years ago and it was always great, now since they moved to this new office, it seems that things have gone a little downhill I am sad to say. She also seems to have lost her pep and enthusiasm?

I've gone to Dr. Livoti twice, once to be prescribed a birth control pill that wouldn't make me moody and once for an exam when I was having some health issues. Both times, Dr. Livoti was both extremely knowledgeable in both describing the various effects of different hormones in order to prescribe me a pill that (finally!) works for me. During the exam she was very funny but never crude and helped me to feel relaxed and comfortable when I came into the appointment feeling anything but. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a gynecologist in the city.

Professional, friendly, knowledgeable.

Doctor's office has moved from 5th Ave. to 121 E. 60th Street. Unfortunately they didn't tell any of their upcoming appointments about that so I found out from the doorman at their old location that they had moved a week ago. Also to be noted, since their move, Dr. Livoti said she has abandoned the practice of obstetrics and will not be doing deliveries anymore. Seems like she's downsizing - a quasi-retirement perhaps? The new office is very very small. There is one exam room and another exam table in what is now Dr. Livoti's "consultation room." It's a very bad setup. Conversations being had w/the doctor in the consult area can be clearly heard if your at the receptionist's desk b/c it's 5 feet away. If you get stuck in the consult/exam room you are screened from other people by a 3 panel paper screen. The doors (there are 1) to that room are glass so the only thing blocking you is the paper screen. The exam table is also right next to a large window with window blinds that don't close all the way. Dr. Livoti seems nice and it's easy to see why she gets high ratings for bedside manner. She's sympathetic and definitely lets you talk. If you're not interested in obstetrics I might still recommend her, she seems nice, just wait a while until they get settled at the new location.

She took me on as a patient and did not give me a pap test. Then found out that she did not accept Empire Blue Cross and Empire did not accept her. Then it turns out she does not take older women as patients. What is that if not age discrimination. Her staff was extremely unkind. As much as I dislike visiting gynos., I liked her a lot and thought she was kind and gentle and interested. Am sorry she has to move her office, as this one was so pretty. Miki Marcu PS: Am not crazy about being read online and didn't know I was going to be. Am re-thinking this blog.

Dr. Livoti was great. I was seen on time...she went over my history thoroughly, answered all my questions honestly, made me feel comfortable during my exam, and was so nice & friendly. I just moved to NYC, and am so happy to have found her.

I felt so comfortable...I felt other OB/GYN doctors judged me and the anticipation of another doctor "judging" me was a bit worrisome but she made me feel so comfortable I just felt like I could tell her anything.

Dr. Livoti is a very caring professional who is always very current on what is being done in her field. She has been my Doctor since she delivered my two sons over 30 years ago (with some interruptions when I lived out of town) and she has always been wonderful.

Thorough visit, asked multiple times if I had any other questions, suggested tips for healthy lifestyle/ what I should do between annual visits, encouraged me to contact her if I needed anything further.

This was the best OB/GYN appt. I have ever been to. Dr. Livoti, is a pure gem as a physician. She took a very through medical history, discussed key medical concerns and did a gentle exam. Never once did I feel rushed or that answering my questions was slowing her down. I barely waited for her between sitting in her office for my medical history and having my physical exam. She is caring, compassionate and really knows her specialty, OB/GYN. I will recommend her to every woman I know!!!!!

I went in very positive due to the feed back. First my appointment was changed from my initial selection to a new time as they did not have my time available and I was told that’s how the Zocdocs site works, this was untrue. The doctor sat with me going over my history which was great, however, it was uncomfortable as for everything I said was under played. Long story short I am still waiting for results a week and a half later and I tried to call but was put on hold and had to go. I have no idea how long it takes for the results I was not told when to expect a call. Try for your self. Still searching for a OB that I feel is paying attention to me and my body.

The wait time was long - (1 hour), but the staff and Dr. Livoti are amazing and so kind. Would come here again, regardless of the wait time. I LOVE THE STAFF!
