Dr. Saltzman is a licensed acupuncturist and uses herbal therapies and other alternative medicine modalities in her practice.
The doctor didn't appear on the appointment without letting me know about that!
very nice people work here
She's also a certified acupuncturist, so... if you're looking for a more "natural" approach, she's fine. But if you like medicine, maybe try someone else first.
Always efficient. Love her sense of humor.
I was able to get a visit within 5 hours from the time I found her on Zocdoc. while it took me a few hours to actually get the confirmation, I did get confirmed about two hours before my appt. I only recently began taking advantage of my health insurance plan and seeing doctors, I am glad that I picked Dr. Saltzman. I found her to be warm, caring and concerned about my concerns. She was helpful in prescribing me medication that would address my symptoms and made it clear that I was welcome to check in or come back for help anytime. After a long time of not going to doctors simply because I didn't know who to go to, I am really happy to be able to consider Dr. Saltzman as my doctor.
Excellent knowledge of current meds and illnesses.
Thorough, efficient, patient and helpful.
Dr. Dana Jane was very nice and I appreciated her prescription of herbal remedies rather than antibiotics, however, her office staff was downright awful--rude, condescending, and bitter. Her assistant literally yanked acupuncture needles out of my face without warning and slammed the door in my waiting room. The acupuncture that she did worked to clear up my sinus infection but she charged me $22 for "Olive Leaf Extract Pills," which go for $7 at CVS if they work at all. Overall, I wouldn't return because of the terrible office staff, but I do wish I could see Dr. Dana as an holistic addition to my primary care physician.
Concern about other areas involving bloodtests, etc. Necessary tests.
She's great - and her nurse gave me the best blood-taking ever...very quick, efficient and painless.
1- She prescribes medications too easily. 2- She charges a "phone consultation fee" to speak to you on the phone about an unresolved issue that she was treating (!!) 3- The nurse who was helping her is RUDE and grumpy. Made me feel that I was doing something wrong or wasting her time.
First time visit. I really liked Dr. Dana. Will definetely keep her as my regular doctor, and I'm a picky one.
Dr Saltzman is a great doc. She's efficient and personable and listens. Also I was in and out of there with much waiting.
Everything was quick and professional, but also thorough. I was really impressed!
AWFUL
I was able to make an appointment for the next day. Front desk was very helpful since I did not have my insurance card with me. They were able to go online and retrieve the info. Dr. Saltzman was very helpful and friendly during my visit.
The doctor was very personable. I was surprised at her intelligent, practical approach. She has a good sense of humor and does NOT overprescribe antibiotics. I feel like I was heard!
Worst experience I've ever had. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone.
My scheduled appointment for my annual check up an blood work was on 8/2/2011. While I was at the office, I made 2 appointments, one of 8/8/2011 for a PAP test (which I had to reschedule) and another on 8/11/2011 for my result. On my way to the office, I saw I had a missed call. I called the office and was told that the Docotor was running late if I could come in later. I ask them if the Doctor could call me with the results. The woman said she was not sure, so I ask her if she could call me to reschedule. She said she would call me back. As of 8/17/2011, I'm still waiting for a call to get my results on blood work done on 8/2/2011.
Thought the visit was very rushed, spent less than five minutes with her before dismissing me as she walked in to see another patient. She was also dostracted and met with two people while i waited. Promised to have blood resilts at a certain time and days after deadline, i still have not received a call, i called twice and there was no answer.
Was not very helpful in advising how to treat the injury. I had to ask all the questions or else I would have known nothing.
She was distracted, rude, and didn't have any idea what any of my medications were. The office was filthy. Terrible doctor!!
What a terrible experience! As a new patient you have to spend about 20 minutes filling out your info, then you have to wait about another 20 minutes to be placed inside an examine room. After another 5 minutes, the doctor finally comes in. Dr. Saltzman just doesn't seem like she's completely there listening to your concerns. I told her what my symptoms were and she started mumbling something to herself about what I was saying. Then she said she would write me up a prescription and the name of an OTC herbal supplement I could take. Right after she said that she walked away and into another patient's examine room. After a few minutes she came back with the prescription, but not the name of the OTC supplement. So I asked her for it, and she said ok, I'll be right back with it! Then she left again! Then her PA came in and told me I was all done and could collect my things and talk to the receptionist about scheduling a follow-up. So I did that and I told the receptionist I'm still waiting on something from the doctor and needed to see her, but she tells me, "the doctor is already with another patient." Very frustrating. I will never go back to her.
Dr. Saltzman was great. She listened to what I had to say and was very efficient.
She was warm, friendly and very helpful.
Great doctor, great sense of humor. She accommodated everything I needed. Thanks Dr.Dj!!
Dr. Saltzman and her staff were very friendly and their service was great!
Average experience.
It was a good visit. Very speedy, and I really liked the electronic filing system.
Going to see Dr. Saltzman was a stressful appointment. The office feels very disorganized, the office workers never seem to know what's going on. They leave you waiting in a room forever while you can clearly hear Dr. Saltzman talking with the patient in the next room (rooms are separated by a thin sliding door, so if you need to talk about something private I don't recommend her!). When I finally got to see Dr. Saltzman she seemed frazzled, couldn't remember who I was after meeting me an hour earlier and clearly wanted to get me in and out. After reading these other glowing reviews, I'm hoping Dr. Saltzman just had an off day, but needless to say I won't be going back.
The most useful doctor visit I've had. Was diagnosed right away, given some medicine and walked out feeling much better. Highly recommended!
She was caring, funny, professional and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for more from a health care provider.
Dana is wonderful. She was extremely helpful and did not rush me through my appointment. She gave valuable and easily applicable advice and was not quick to issue an unnecessary prescription.
Short wait. She listened to my problem issued a prescription, took blood and I was out. My only concern is that the walls are paper thin and I over heard another patient complaining.
As a new patient i wish i had more of an opportunity to get to know my doctor a bit...or more imprtantly for her to get to kow me...
Dr Saltzman is an excellent doctor and I want to come back to see her
I like this office as a whole. Dana was very nice, and recommended me to speak with and even see two other specialty doctors in the office to immediately attend to problems i had. It's convenient and everyone is very nice.
She has an informal style I like, but I could hear the complaints of the woman in the next room loud and clear--paper thin walls, I guess.
She seemed really spacey and not confident in the course of action she recommended for my illness. She was very personable, though. Office staff was very nice.
Had to wait even thoughhardly any other patients and could see Dr. was behind reception desk. Dr. was still very rushed even though office was slow. Felt I could only get out basic concerns as fast as possible. Only asked if I had any other concerns as she was walking out the door for next patient - not very inviting of a productive dr-patient relationship.
There are no words to explain the incompetancy that I encountered at my appointment. She is the WORST doctor I have ever visited. Her office is dirty and disorganized. The paperwork she asks you to fill out is totally ridiculous. STEER CLEAR OF THIS NIGHTMARE DOCTOR!
This is one of the worst doctor visit I have ever had in my life. The doctor is quite unprofessional. She doesn't seem to be aware of privacy concerns of patients. She was treating multiple patients at once while I was there and doors were left open. I can clearly hear what other patients are telling her. They switched me to different rooms and left records of previous patients in the room out clearly visible. When they moved me, they didn't take my urine sample until another patient had sat down for 2 minutes. I can only imagine how gross that will be (samples are in empty cups instead of a contained bottle). It took the doctor a lot of phone calls and running around to finally have the tubes ready for blood testing. They got a lot of blood from me and still complained it's not enough. This is the first time in my life that had happened. Totally not fun. The doctor doesn't seem to care much about your well being either. She was running around the office being a receptionist and taking calls while having the consultation with me. It also took me a while to realize she is the doctor since she didn't even introduce herself. After all the testing, I wanted to have a conversation with her about a problem. But she didn't even made an effort to listen to my problem. Will not go back again.
I liked Dr. Salzman's thoroughness and how quikly she got me what I needed. I had blood tests done right at the office when i needed them, so no running around to get those taken care of. She was nice & caring, if a bit rushed. She gave me an accupunture treatment which provided immediate relief for my sore throat and herbs instead of antibiotics. She worked up a plan to help me meet some health goals and was very helpful in that regard. The only negatice was the paperwork I had to fill out - there were some questions I did not feel comfortable answering on an intake form and also there are charges for things I don't think should be charged for - calling in refill prescriptions and phone consults. Overall, though, it was a good experience.
Dr. Saltzman is both a knowledgeable western medicine physician and a wonderful alternative practitioner. Instead of drugging every one up with unnecessary, dangerous medicines she sells herbs which work just as well, right in the office! Also does acupuncture, which really does work.
Dr. Saltzman is a wonderful doctor! She is friendly, knowledgable, prompt and caring. She even does accupuncture, which is amazing. Every patient who is unsatisfied with their primary physician should schedule an appointment immediately.
Dr. Saltzman is a great doctor. She is probably one of the best doctor's I have ever had. I was looking for a doctor in NY and I went to the right place. 2 THUMBS UP!
The office was busy when I got there, but the short wait was worth it. Dr. Saltzman was excellent, very personable and sensitive. It's a relief to find a doctor who knows how to get to the crux of my issues and still talk to me as a human being in a engaging manner. Wish more docs knew how to do this!
