Dr. Capiola is an orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in sports medicine. A graduate of Harvard College (Magna cum Laude), he completed Georgetown Medical School, St. Luke's/ Roosevelt residency (Columbia affiliate), and New England Baptist sports medicine fellowship (Harvard and Tufts affiliate), where he served as a team physician for the Boston Celtics. He is Board Certified and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Capiola has published and lectured on numerous topics including shoulder, knee, ankle and elbow injuries and treatments, including nonoperative rehabilitation. His approach to musculoskeletal injury involves comprehensive care with active involvement of the patient. He believe that each person should be treated on a case-by-case basis to achieve maximal recovery and function.
