I graduated from Harvard College with a concentration in English literature and completed medical school at the Boston University School of Medicine. After medical school I did two three-year residencies at the University of Chicago, one in Internal Medicine and then another in Dermatology. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. After my residencies I had one more year of training-- a Fellowship year in skin cancer and skin cancer surgery--and then moved to California to practice.
As a complement to my medical practice, I have worked as a writer, journalist, and editor. In the early 1990s I began a long association with the British medical journal, “The Lancet”. In 1995 I was promoted from West Coast Editor to North American Editor, and this brought me back home to New York. Since moving here, I published "Field Guide to Clinical Dermatology", a book intended to teach dermatology to primary care doctors and nurses.
I have been practicing in Park Slope for ten years. I try to maintain an office that keeps patient care warm, unhurried and personal. I welcome patients with all types of skin conditions, and have a subspecialty expertise in allergic contact dermatitis (skin allergy and allergy testing), and in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers.
Thank you for visiting. I look forward to seeing you.
wasn't focused on my needs, asked for psoriasis treatment, he talked more about skin cancer
Needing a dermatologist for a next-day appointment, I booked an appointment at around 8pm for 11am the next morning. The office called me to verify my appointment and I was seen very punctually. Best of all, I feel like I was given excellent care for my concern by Dr. Frankel.
Courteous, professional, and a short wait time. They only take cash or check, however.
