Dr. David Nierman is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. While pursuing his degrees he worked as
a lab technician at Illinois Masonic Hospital and interned at Chicago’s Japanese American Clinic.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Cyril Nierman and brother, Larry, Dr. David earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry and joined the family-owned, family-focused practice, Nierman Vision Center, as a certified optometrist in 1983.
Dr. David’s diagnostic and therapeutic licenses are from the University of St. Louis. He has extensive training in specialty contact lens fittings, including keratoconus. He is also a certified co-manager of Lasik laser eye surgeries, having trained under Dr’s. Manus and Colman Kraff of the Kraff Eye Institute. As a principal of Nierman Vision Center, he received invitations extended exclusively to the top one percent of the nation’s optometric practices to attend the industry’s Business Academy conferences, sponsored by Varilux and Ciba.
Dr. David has three children, is a resident of Highland Park and is, like every member of the Nierman family, a devoted, die-hard fan of the Chicago White Sox. He also enjoys the outdoors, music and art.
Dr. David has been featured in the Daily Herald, Wall Street Journal, Women’s Health Magazine, Women’s World Magazine, Chicago Health & Beauty Magazine, and iParenting.com. …
