Dr. Schnapp has become one of the most experienced and respected Robotic surgeons in the five boroughs as well as on long island. He performs up to four robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy procedures in a single day; weekly, at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Dr. Schnapp was also the first to perform a Robotic partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer at North Shore. Recently he also performed the first reported case of a robotic excision of an Urachal cyst. Dr. Schnapp was also among the first Surgeons to perform “in office” microwave thermotherapy of the prostate gland for BPH and has now done well over 1000 cases. DSS Urology is one of the only private Urologic practices in NY to offer biofeedback therapy for the treatment of urinary incontinence (leakage of urine) in both men and women. This non-invasive therapy is offered to every one of our post-prostatectomy patients and hastens the return of urinary control after the procedure. Dr. Schnapp has one of the largest experiences in the performance of penile implantation for intractable erectile dysfunction. He is also a leader in the placement of the artificial urinary sphincter. Dr. Omid Rofeim has added another dimension to the practice with his expertise in female Urology. He routinely performs the most advanced minimally invasive procedures for urinary incontinence. Diana Aranbayeva, RPA-C, has been an invaluable member of the clinical team at DSS Urology for over three years now.
