After using reviews to find a new Dr. online, I chose Dr. Shanker. I felt he was very honest and we discussed the best course to travel in detail. No unnecessary follow-up appointments just to get a script written. My auto repair company uses a service like this for appointment, email, texting, and follow-up. Positive reviews are key to letting others know that honest and good doctors DO exist.

Well, before you meet him,you meet his staff. They work like a well-oiled machine--very professional,friendly and thorough,IMO. Dr. Shanker is very good at what he does--He explains your problem,why it likely occurred and how he intends to treat it. He's also very funny--maybe stand-up his second gig? It was my first visit but,i highly recommend his practice.

He was very unprofessional, including: Taking a phone call in the exam room (non-patient or emergency). He laughed at the issues I was bringing up and also told me he had no interest in a procedure any longer. He said he could remove issues if they bothered me, my concern were more if they were cancerous. You can hear other exam rooms through the heating units. He offered me a gown only after I told him a mole was in a sensitive area. He asked for my medical history AFTER the exam.

very quick and to the point and seemed to know what he was talking about which put me at ease.

He's direct and to the point. That's the only reason I docked a star for bedside manner. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. He seems very knowledgable.

The appointment felt rushed and was not very thorough.

I liked the rapid doctor visit except all of my concerns were not met! I think he could have explained future steps better without having to comeback to pay another co-pay. A follow-up appointment should have been granted without a co-pay to see if his recommendation worked.

Great doctor, had a rash that another doctor thought was something it wasn't and Dr. Shanker diagnosed and treated it right away. His office even got me in after I mixed the appointment times and came 30 minutes late!

I appreciate that Dr. Shanker is busy; however, he spent less than 5 minutes with me after a 30 minute wait - which is a testament to how quickly he can diagnose an issue - but also very abrupt and unsettling as he barely bothered to introduce himself.

Dr. Shanker is always on time - a real pleasure when visiting a doctor.

He has invested in cutting edge equipment that prior doctors I've seen never have had. Extremely knowledgeable at his craft. His office went out of their way to assist me in figuring out my eye care coverage, discovering that even though zocdoc said they were in network, they had never heard of my eye care plan. Couldn't get glasses due to the insurance issue. I will go to him again and will recommend him to my friends and family.

He has a truly professional and friendly bedside manner. As a first-time patient I would feel confident recommending him to anyone in need of a dermatologist.
