Dr. Shapiro, named one of US News and World Report’s "Top Doctors" in 2011, has been practicing in Burlingame since 1993. She received her BA in Biology from UC Santa Cruz, her M.D. from UCSF and was at the University of New Mexico for her Residency. She is certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She divides her time evenly between Obstetrics and Gynecology and is very supportive of Midwifery care for low risk patients. Her Gynecological interest include minimally invasive surgery for a variety of conditions, as well as menopausal management. She works closely with many skilled sub specialists in the area to provide optimum care for her patients. She is active on the multiple committees at Mills-Peninsula Hospital including the Perinatal Quality Committee, the Operating Room Management Committee, and the Education Committee. She serves on Aetna's Western Region Credentialing Committee, and the Mills Peninsula Division of Palo Alto Medical Foundation's Quality Committee. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at the Peninsula Humane Society/ASPCA, being philanthropic and learning from her cats and dog, and her spouse of 17 years, Debra Mosk.
I found her to be gentle, understanding, concerned and gave her full attention. I loved her and would recommend her highly
