Dr. Armellini earned her medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela, School of Medicine in Caracas, Venezuela. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Internal Medicine.

Dr Armellini fulfilled her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in New York. Subsequently she completed a 2 year clinical fellowship training at the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Miami.
Shortly after her training, she became an assistant professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Miami, as full-time faculty. During that time, she became the co-director of the Thyroid Tumor Board, specializing in the diagnosis, management and treatment of advanced thyroid cancer and thyroid disorders.
Dr. Armellini also holds current certifications in Bone Densitometry, Thyroid Ultrasound, and Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of thyroid nodules. She is an active member of the American Thyroid Association, The Endocrine Society, and The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist. She currently holds privileges at Virginia Hospital Center.
