Elena Frid, M.D., is a board certified neurologist who helps patients (adolescents and up) with all types of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Dr. Frid is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, and is an attending physician at Lenox Hill, North Shore, and Long Island Jewish hospitals.
Dr. Frid began her medical training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she was accepted for an elite 7 year BA/MD program. She went on to do her post graduate training in Neurology at North Shore University Hospital - Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine, where during her final year of residency she was selected to serve as a chief resident.
Dr. Frid continued her medical training at North Shore LIJ University Hospital and enrolledinto a very competitive and highly skilled neurological fellowship training program in Electrophysiology (NCS/EMG/EP) under the close watch of Dr. Murthy Vishnubhakat, a 30+ year neurology specialist, and an Electroencephalography (EEG) with Dr. Cynthia Harden, a nationally recognized published author for medical reviews and a chief of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Care Institute at North Shore LIJ Health Systems.
To further her knowledge and offer valuable solutions to her patients, Dr. Frid spent time learning Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) with Dr. Ronal Emerson, a former president of American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and a director of Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) at Cornell.

She was very thorough during my visit. She asked a lot of questions and explained everything to me very clearly since I had a lot of questions too. Going for a follow up in 2 weeks which is nice since many Drs in nyc take weeks to get an appointment. They also got me in for a same day MRI which seems close to impossible normally!
Fantastic physician with personality to match. RNs are not the easiest people for some physicians to treat ...full of questions & a certain degree of medical knowledge. Dr Frid allayed my fears & allowed me to relax into the role of being a patient. She is an excellent diagnostician as well.

Very pleasant, down-to-earth, and honest doctor. She took every step to give me the most accurate and thorough attention, including several referrals and follow-up visits just to make sure we weren't overlooking anything potentially important. She is very sweet and calming in sometimes not so comfortable situations. However, the wait was a bit long after my scheduled appointments, (at least the 2 times I went in).
I have never been to a neurologist before so I didn't know what to expect. From using ZocDoc, to the office staff calling for a reminder and Dr. Frid explaining everything to me - before, during and after the exam. I Highly recommend Dr. Frid and would recommend her to anyone of my family and friends.
