Great doctor, very thorough. What I didn't like was they required a $40 charge on top of the copay for 'refraction'. You cant get a glasses prescription without it. Noone mentioned this when I made the appointment. Its misleading, They make you sign a form that you will pay $40 extra when you arrive. So I had to pay $60 including the copay, If I knew this I would have selected another doctor. Its their choice to charge, but its misleading not to tell you before you turn up for your appointment. This is why I wouldn't recommend this doctor. Other than that he was lovely.

Dr. Shepps was very informative and friendly. He didn't rush me through the exam and answered all my questions openly and directly. His staff was very professional and pleasant. What impressed me the most was that Dr. Schepps took the time to walk me through how I should maintain my daily eyecare regimen and personally made sure that I understood everything thoroughly before I left the office. One of the best eye doctor visits I've had in a long time!

The doctor was helpful and obviously qualified. However, the office was so busy with patients that Doc. seemed to be a bit in a rush during the consultation. But for this impression and the 1-hour wait, things would have been pretty good.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Staff was organized and helpful, and I felt well-attended to while in the office. I had a thorough eye exam and contact fitting in less than an hour on my first visit! After moving to the city and being wary about switching eye doctors away from my one at home, I am glad to have found Dr. Shepps and his team.

Did not seem to be listening; seemed to have a preconceived opinion about what he would offer me in terms of care and was rather resistant to hearing my view. He made statements more or less to the effect of, 'listen to me, do as I say do and if you don't, be it on your head'. I don't think he meant any harm but this is how he came of to me; rather patronizing.

competent doctor however my appt somehow wasn't in the system. I made it on zocdoc. so he had to squeeze me in and I waited almost an hour. office staff was nice but just one of those unfortunate instances where my appt didn't come up in the system.

Dr. Shepps and his staff were wonderful. I felt very comfortable with my visit. Everything was done in a timely fashion. He answered all my questions in a clear understanding manner. I will definitley follow up for my next visit. I would feel comfortable recommending Dr. Shepps to my family & friends.

Dr. Shepps was very thorough. Staff was very pleasant and on point. With the problem I had, the dr answered every question with out hesitation.He gave me samples of the drops I needed along with a script. Great care experience over all. I will return for my follow up.

Doctor performed adequately for a routine exam, and nothing terrible happened, but one did not feel like a valued patient to whom attention was being paid. Office staff seemed disorganized and bordered on rude. They had called three times (!) to confirm appointment time and collect insurance information, but seemed not to be expecting me when I arrived, and had not yet determined what the insurance did and did not cover. There was lots of moving around from one waiting room to another without actual progress, and then more waiting in a treatment room. It was nearly 2.5 hours before we saw the doctor, but no one acknowledged this, much less apologized or said how much longer it would take. Doctor seemed pretty casual for a first encounter. Halfway the exam, it occurred to him to say something in passing about "lots of emergencies, you know how it is," the way someone might mention "traffic's bad today." Finally, he said the drops he was putting in would wear off shortly; in fact, blurred vision and painful light sensitivity lasted for six hours. Basically, between waiting for the doctor and dealing with the consequences of a poorly explained procedure, the whole day was shot.

Great experience, very speedy service (booked and seen within an hour via ZocDoc) and professional advice. Deal with my eye problem really quickly and clearly. Staff at the practice were all really friendly and efficient.

Dr. Shepps took time to thoroughly explain a forthcoming procedure that I needed to have. However, the long office wait (well over 2 hours) was a real turn-off. I was one of his first patients of the day and had long waits between various tests that were performed.

The doctor behaved as if he is just too senior to see you! I think he is a specialist in certain areas and does not want to bother seeing patients who do not have severe problems (and guess so will not be high bill patients!) - that's fine, but then do not accept an appointment and tell patients upfront that he only sees patients with certain level of condition. He started raising his voice on me when I was not happy with the service he provided for my condition and wanted to discuss with him. He was also discorteous to his own staff. Also, they will try and charge your insurance for all he can - so be careful and review your bill. In addition, I had to wait more than an hour to see him even though I had an appointment - waste of time for such a bad service. I took time out from work and it was a major waste of my time. Don't make an appointment if you can't keep on time.

Dr. Shepps is confident in his delivery of information and seems very professional. Patients should probably know they should be aggressive about asking for clarification or further information, because Dr Shepps is not exactly going to seek your feedback or prod you to see whether you are satisfied with explanations.

I was extremly satisfied with the overall experience with the doctor and staff. They accommadated me for an emergancy. I had to wait almost an hour, but it surely beat waiting in an ER. I was in so much pain while waiting, but the doc came out to the waiting room & put a drop in my eye that made me feel comfortable. I will definitley follow up as directed. Finally I found an eye doc who helped me in the time of need.

I was very happy with Dr Shepps. He listened carefully to my description of my vision problem and was very thorough with testing. It turned out that I had a problem requiring a retinal specialist. I think had he not been so attentive it might have been missed. The best part was that he got me in to see a specialist right away, and I had laser surgery to treat the problem the same day. I'm extremely grateful.
