Very knowledgable, efficient while still taking time to check everything.

The visit went perfectly. They even called me to let me know I could come earlier, and considering I made the appoint 10 minutes before (same day appointment) I was very impressed. Dr Engel was very professional and explained things succinctly. He also spotted and fixed my problem very quickly. Not everyone has an eyelash stuck in their eye, but out of 3 doctors, he was the only one to even spot it. Definitely recommended.

Not exactly a warm and fuzzy character. I asked him about a mark on my eyes. He didn't seem to see what I was talking about at first. So I said "You can't see it"? Then he gets this annoyed look on his face and says "I look at eyes all day". First of all, that was not a proper response to a yes or no question. Second, I didn't appreciate his tone. The other strange thing was one of his assistants. She must have asked me a million questions that had nothing to do with my eyes. Small talk is okay. But at a certain point I became convinced she was doing some sort of psychological evaluation on me. I had heard the same battery of questions once after I nearly passed out and the doctors wanted to see where my head was at before they released me. Every time I answered a question she would dig deeper, one question after the other in rapid succession. It was weird. Definitely not coming back.

Dr Engel was very patient and has a pleasant demeanor. I didn't feel rushed and I was comfortable asking any questions.

patient and extremely focused. spent over 30 minutes with me and I never felt rush (even though the waiting room was full) - great friendly receptionist, and dental assistant was wonderful. beautiful office and will continue to see Dr. Engel

I enjoyed my first experience at Dr. Engel's office. The office was clean and welcoming and everyone was very friendly. I was seen immediately and was out and on my way back to work in just under an hour (impressive for a first time visit). Mine was probably one of the first appointments of the day (9:45a), so that may have helped to make it a swift and quick visit.

Dr. Engel is very professional and clear with his explanation of the conditions, timeline, expectations, etc. He is also very thorough and takes time to check everything out.

The office is very clean, modern and spacious. Receptionist is friendly and professional. Dr. Engel took his time to examine me and answer any questions, did not feel rushed at all which is hard to find nowadays. My favorite person was Kim, she does the intake and she was friendly, warm, and professional. Overall great experience. Too bad I have 20/15 vision and don't have to go to Ophthalmologist hardly ever...just had an odd eye irritation.

Dr. Engel is a nice guy, and the exam was thorough.

Dr. Engel was fantastic! I suffered a corneal abrasion at the hands of my toddler and was released from the ER with some pain meds and antibiotic drops. Unsurprisingly, I visited Dr. Engel 2 days later in tremendous pain. He managed my pain, fixed my eye, and saw me daily (including weekends) while I healed. He is a great guy, and an exceptional doctor.

Dr. Engel was incredibly personable. He made a point of explaining the health of my eyes on his own initiative to make sure I understood--unlike many doctors I've seen.

Very professional, efficient, nice office staff

After several frustrating appointments at NY Eye and Ear, I came to Dr. Engel for a second opinion. In a matter of minutes he was able to diagnose my condition and explain it in layman's terms. Essentially, in 20 minutes he was able to do, what NY Eye and Ear was unable to do over the course of days. He really took the time to answer all of my questions and went above and beyond to make sure I had a clear understanding of my medical condition. I walked out of our appointment very satisfied. Fantastic all around experience!

Dr. was very polite,answered my questions, and let me know I could call or come back if I need any further help. Overall, I was pleased with this appointment.

He didn't really diagnose my issue, nor did he prescribe any medication or advise. Also I was on time for my appointment and he still took a patient that was late for her appointment before me. I landed up waiting 1/2 hour.
