Dr. Harvey Samowitz believes that a strong doctor-patient relationship is critical for successful outcomes and management of the total patient. In some cases, this may require high-tech or aggressive therapy, while in many situations, it may result in nutritional supplements, minimally invasive therapy, or simple reassurance. Every patient is unique, and Dr. Samowitz is able and willing to do whatever is necessary in the best interests of that individual patient, combining compassionate care with state of the art medicine.
Dr. Samowitz has special expertise in the areas of urinary disorders including frequency/urgency, incontinence, BPH, and women’s health, as well as for male infertility. In his practice, he utilizes the best and most successful treatments for cancer, stones, prostate problems, and erectile dysfunction. He is a member of many professional organizations, including Mensa, the American Urological Association, certified by the American Board of Urology, and recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was Secretary and then President of the Greater Miami Urological Society.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Samowitz graduated Magna cum Laude from Duke University with a double major in Biology and Philosophy. His interest in Medical Ethics led him to establish Students To Advance Bioethics and organize the National Undergraduate Conference on Medical Ethics. He graduated in less than four years and participated in immunological research at the Harvard School of Public Health before beginning medical school.
When not practicing, Dr. Samowitz spends time relaxing with his wife, twin daughters, and friends. He enjoys travel, snow and water skiing, scuba diving, tennis, and all that living in South Florida has to offer. …
