As a gastroenterologist serving both Queens and Long Island, Dr. Howard Zimmerman is passionate about medicine, which combines his love of science and of his
love of helping others. Dr. Zimmerman is known for his pleasant demeanor, and for taking the time to explain everything his patients need to know. At his practice, Dr. Zimmerman is proud to feature a compassionate group of top-notch physicians who set the highest standard for their practice and deliver the best and most up-to-date medicine available. Both offices provide for ambulatory endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, gastroscopy and small bowel capsule endoscopy and are AAAASF approved endoscopic facilities.
Dr. Zimmerman began his studies at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by an internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and residencies at both institutions. His devotion throughout his training did not go unnoticed, and he went on to complete a prestigious fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Eager to pass on the gift of a medical education, Dr. Zimmerman serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. He also serves as an Attending Physician at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park.
When he needs a break from all the hard work, Dr. Zimmerman loves to exercise, especially spinning and biking. He also likes to take advantage of New York’s rich culture and world-class museums. He is proud to meet with patients in both English and Hebrew. …
