Dr. Jaquelline Perlman MD, FACOG

Dr. Perlman is very honest and genuinely shows care for her patients. I always feel like I'm getting the right attention.

I found Dr. Perlman warm and easy to talk to. Relative to other doctors I've seen, her bedside manner was great. She did a beginning and ending consultation in her office with me fully dressed, which is a huge plus-- it's so dehumanizing when doctors only see you in a paper gown. And she seemed open-minded and flexible about treatment protocols. I would have liked her to ask me some more questions about my reactions to certain medications, because I think it's important anecdotal information; she did ask some, but I wasn't sure she was fully listening to some of what I shared. But that's comparing her to an ideal that I've never actually seen in a real-life doctoring situation. Given that, I'd say she was definitely one of the better and more balanced-seeming (as a human being) doctors I've seen and I will certainly continue seeing her. The rest of the staff (receptionists, nurse) seemed detail-oriented, which I appreciate, and although the front-desk people's cheery-greeting manners could have been bumped up a notch, I wouldn't say they were rude, simply subdued. The office was nice and conveniently located near the Jay St./Borough Hall F train.

Dr. Perlman is very thorough and willing to listen to any concerns you have as well as follow through on testing needed.

I found Dr. Perlman to be not only very thorough and gentle during the exam, but also friendly and kind. She took the time to answer all my questions and never talked down to me or brushed off my concerns. I was seen promptly (only a 15 minute wait which in my experience is almost nothing!) and the office staff was pleasant and helpful. Altogether a good experience.

It is hard to find a great doctor that I can go to nearby and takes my insurance. I was super pleased with my first visit. The office staff were organized, friendly, professional and efficient. My appointment was on time and Dr.Perlman was very thorough and very informative. I felt so comfortable with her and she kept me at ease. I did not have any doubts or concerns. I know my health is in super hands.I am so fortunate I found her on zocdoc.

Seems very smart, interested in the patient, very nice demeanor. Rapidfire questions for my history made me realize I need to have everything written down. Only time can tell, but a good first visit. Staff was really nice, which is a very important factor in my opinion.

I had a very long wait time at the office and overall it was not a very welcoming experience. Dr. Perlman is extremely competent yet has a very blunt and sharp personality.

The office was very busy, but efficiently run by a friendly and helpful staff. The nurse was especially kind and considerate. Dr. Perlman was fast and efficient.

Dr. Perlman was wonderful. She took the time to explain everything in our consultation, about what my options were as far as future reproductive heath care. I would highly recommend her.

Knowledgeable, ethically motivated and a proper degree of warmth and compassion. Nice and efficient staff. At long last, I'm thrilled to have found competent local gyn.

The doctor was nice - she is kind of serious in demeanor, but that's fine for a doctor. I felt she gave me plenty of time to speak with her about any concerns I might have. She was particularly helpful when I called her from the pharmacy to get a change in my prescription. She patiently stayed on the line while I figured out who she should call to change the prescription for me, and she did it right away. Some doctors you'll never reach on the phone (or they'll rush you off), so I thought this was a very good sign for Dr. Perlman's accessibility and willingness to help. I will see her again. Also, I liked her office staff.

Dr. Pearlman is very thorough and has a lot of patients. Aside from the practice being very busy and her having to jump from patient to patient very quickly, everyone there (including Dr. Pearlman) was able to answer all of my concerns in a knowledgeable manner.

Dr. Perlman was very professional and has a good system in updating the patient of any test results when they become available. Aside from the convenience of her location for me personally, I've made her my new gynocologist and would recommend anyone else to do the same.

It seemed that Dr. Perlman was in a rush during my visit. The examination and the consultation went really quickly. She did answer all the questions that I had.

Aside from the fact that I was told I needed to lose weight based on the number I gave the nurse. I was never weighed on a scale & in my mind am much heavier then I really was. (Another scale said I was 210 not the 240 I told her & I am 6 feet tall). I was really offended by that because a gynecologist should be someone who defends women's rights not insulting them based on the image the media says is right. I was there in her office for an hour and half, which was way over the time I had expected to spend there. Overall, Dr. Perlman asks a lot of questions about history and such, which maybe accounts for the long wait time. I just felt her manner was a bit gruff. Not sure if I will be back for another visit.

Thorough. Personable. Will go to Dr Perlman as my regular GYN from now on.

I did not feel like she listened to my concerns completely.

This review is from my appointment back in June. I loved my previous gyn practice but they don't take my insurance. I chose Dr. Perlman based on the high reviews on this site. Unfortunately my experience was not up to par. I did really like her assistant, who made me feel very comfortable. I liked that the Dr. Met with me before I undressed and heard all my concerns. The exam was efficient and painless. However I did not care for Dr. Perlman's bedside manner. She raised my anxiety level with comments she made during the exam. She presumed that my test results would come back abnormal. I had to wait 2 weeks to get them back and it turns out everything was fine, but she raised my anxiety for that two week period unnecessarily. Then the results are given over a voice message. I have had much more personal service with other doctors. It is important to me to have a gynecologist with whom I feel comfortable and who is accessible by phone, rather than voicemail or through her assistant. For those reasons, I will not return to Dr. Perlman.

She was very kind, took her time in learning about my history, and made me feel comfortable. She answered any questions I had and didnt make me feel rushed. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Perlman was very thorough and took the time to explain what every test was for. I really appreciate her erring on the side of caution when it comes to making sure everything is up to snuff. Very gentile, and great staff to boot. There was a wee bit of a wait, but I feel like that's to be expected.

I really liked Jacqueline Perlman. She was very professional yet personable at the same time. She explained everything she was doing as she was examining me and after the exam was over,she took her time to explain everything to me and answer my questions. She was very gentle during the examination and made it go by quickly. I plan to keep her as my ob gyn.

Dr. Perlman is very kind, gentle and thorough. Her staff were equally kind. There was a bit of a long wait time, which was the only downside although it was my first visit, hopefully it will be better next time. Otherwise, thumbs up!
