I can't say enough good things about Dr Zelaya. He took his time, looked me in the eye, and made me feel totally at ease while addressing a rather sensitive issue. I would highly recommend him.

Really pleased with my visit to Dr. Zelaya! He was great: didn't rush me, talked through my concerns, set me up with a good regimen, etc. Lovely bedside manner! His staff is friendly, too. I waited about 40 minutes, which isn't ideal, but that's my only complaint, really. Highly recommended!

Pleasant experience..

It was weird- the assistant had the biggest, silocone filled lips ever and i made me see the place as more of a beauty place an less of a doctors office with professionals. nothing against them as people- really nice! Just didnt want to ever schedule my follow up for him to remove my mole, which is a minor surgery.

I really liked Dr. Zelaya. After visiting a number of other dermatologists in the city, I thought they were all brusque product and procedure-pushers. Dr. Zelaya was really friendly, took the time to find out about my history, asked about my preferences involving oral medication instead of pushing it on me, listened to me and explained why he was prescribing certain medicines, and most importantly -- didn't recommend a SINGLE expensive procedure. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone, especially someone who is looking for some no-nonsense acne help. Also, I noticed a lot of the reviews mentioned long wait times but I was seen almost immediately, and it was a lunchtime appointment!

He's excellent short and sweet. I'll keep going back for all my derm needs. Wish he did other medicine types.

Dr Zelaya was extremely professional but at the same time wasn't sterile so that put me at ease. He's quick at what he does but extremely thorough. The office is neat and inviting and you don't wait very long. Very satisfied with the service provided.

loved the office, the stuff and the treatment. was very fast and to the point. I would say less than 15 min wait and less then 15 min appointment. for a bussy person this is perfect.

The wait was insane (2 hours in the main waiting room, then 30 minutes in the "inner" waiting room and then another 10-15 in the actual exam room). I actually only saw the doctor for a total of 5 minutes, but I have to say he was really knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner: communicative, listened to all of my questions and concerns, made great suggestions and eye contact which are all rare in dermatologists. I have been to many dermatologists in my day and he is definitely the best, I would go back again, despite the 2 hour wait.

As always, Dr. Zelaya was knowledgeable and incredibly gregarious. The front desk and staff was equally friendly. Everyone works with you to make for a pleasant and efficient visit.

Overall was a great experience. Dr. Zelaya quickly identified my issue and also explained why a previous diagnosis was incorrect.

He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very thorough in his examination, unlike the previous dermatologist I saw (not through ZocDoc). I would definitely recommend him and plan on using him in the future.

He quickly and clearly diagnosed the pre-cancerous blemish on my face and treated it immediately. Three days on it is healing nicely, and he scheduled a follow-up in four weeks. He has a nice friendly manner, and I recommend him.

Thorough and good bed side manner. Chelsea office is very nice and does not feel like a typical 'cold' doc office.

I think that Dr. Zelaya is amazing! Was straight to the point but was so soft-spoken & understanding. I have never met a Doctor as great as him! I cannot wait to continue with him!

Wait time was long.

Was there for a skin cancer check, but ended up getting a small wart removed off my foot and a gross skin tag cut off my leg. I didn't go there with that intention, and was a little surprised he would do it right there and then. In retrospect, it's great that he did that because i don't have to go back for a second appt. I feel like he really examined my skin. I am a runner and have a pretty constant suntan, and my brother had a melanoma, so I am careful to go to skin doctors a lot. Dr Zelaya wasn't at all judgemental or preachy, which is why I left my previous doctor. All in all, he did a great job.

I was there for a routine skin cancer screening, not for anything cosmetic, though I now know that his office offers all kinds of other services (massage, facial, etc). The office is beautiful and peaceful, and very well run. I didn't have to wait at all for my appointment, and was out in 15 minutes flat. That's not to say that they rushed me. Dr Zelaya was very friendly, attentive and thorough. He asked good questions and explained what he was doing at all times -- made me very comfortable. He also wasn't judgemental about my tan, which I can't seem to not get as a mom of two young kids and seemingly always outside or in the park. Other dermatologists I've gone to for cancer screensings have tried to cross sell me anti-aging products and services, but that wasn't the case here at all. I'd absolutely recoimend to anyone.

Speaks very quickly, and seemed to be very busy, but I just made sure to ask all my questions, and he was extremely polite and helpful in dealing with them. I'd gladly use Dr. Zelaya again.

My visit to Dr. Zelaya was quick. He knew exactly what to do and explained the procedure to me perfectly. Wait time was a bit annoying but it was worth it.

Doctors office is very easy to get to by Subway. Two minutes walk from train station. The Office is very nicely decorated , soft music, relaxed surroundings. Doctor Javier Zelaya, very friendly and efficient. Will definettely recomend him to all my friends and co-workers. thank you.

Waiting time was horrible (almost 2 hours) and front desk staff were ok but the doctor and his assistant were wonderful, helpful, and very nice.

Dr. Zelaya was fantastic. He's extremely nice, courteous, and helpful. He listened to all of my needs and offered both immediate and long-term suggestions. I've also never been to such a nicely kept and serene office. It was a pleasure to visit and I can't wait to go back.

Dr. Zelaya and his staff are awesome. They're welcoming, professional and extremely accommodating. Dr. Zelaya has wonderful manner - he's very caring and listens to your concerns.
