Dr. Larry Bishop MD

He's wonderful. This was my 2nd visit and I can't thank him enough for being so kind and making it a great experience.

He spent more time than any other doctor I've had asking questions and trying to pinpoint what is wrong. I left with clear next steps: tests to find out more, changes to make, and meds to try.

Dr. Bishop is hands down the kind of old school doctor my grandparents would tell me about. The one the makes house calls, cares about his patients, and is more knowledgeable about specific ailments than the specialists that I've payed THOUSANDS of dollars to over the years. Also, one thing that I can't stand about a lot of doctors(at least in this city), is when you walk into an office, and you can just smell the greed. You're not a patient, just another number who can afford to pay for one of their office visits. Each time I've seen Dr. Bishop, I haven't even heard him mutter the word "money" to me once. I'm the one who turns around, and has to remind him that I need to pay him. It's like an after thought to him. Call and make an appointment people, cause I've already told two friends, and I know that they've told two friends, and so on... and so on... Thanks Dr. Bishop!

Dr. Bishop was very knowledgeable and courteous. He talked for over an hour and kept prodding into my condition, which helped put me at ease. Only negative was the wait of an hour, but well worth the wait.

Easy to talk to, and was knowledgeable about costs of medications. I went in for allergies and a sinus infection - and what he prescribed had me feeling much better. When the pharmacy had a question about a prescription he wrote, he answered his phone right away (which was nice, so I didn't have to wait at the pharmacist forever). I would recommend him.

While I think Dr Bishop is amazing, he was an hour late for my appt. it was due to an error that wasn't his fault but it was annoying. I'd definitely recommend him to a friend.

A great doctor! Took the time to explain everything in great detail. I showed up around 8pm and he did not rush me considering how late it was. Definitely my new primary care doctor!

I sprained my ankle and made an appt w dr bishop for the wrong date, but he was nice enough to talk with me over the phone and stay in contact over the weekend to see how I was doing. I haven't met a doctor who was so reachable and concerned in a long time!

Good medical advice and good counsel

Dr. Bishop was awesome. Very personable and I was able to comfortably talk about any issues I had. We even spoke about sports and my hometown. Not to mention he was familiar with my college I attended. Great doctor!

Dr. Bishop took a very holistic approach to my diagnosis. He was remarkably thorough, and moreover was extraordinarily kind. I left feeling not only that my illness had been addressed, but that I'd found a very trustworthy doctor for future needs.

I thought Dr. Bishop was professional and friendly! He didn't rush through the apointment, he took his time and explained everything to me so I could understand better. I am very picky when it comes to doctors and I just got very good vibes from him. He made me feel comfortable which is hard to do. I will definitely be seeing him again, and would recommend him to anyone. You can tell you loves what he does and that's so important now days!

Dr. Bishop was very easy to talk to. He listened to my concerns and he seriously considered all the possible treatments, ideas, and options. He even consulted the internet in the office and spoke to another doctor about my problem. He also dealt with me pretty much on his own - no receptionist or nurse. He took my blood himself and called the x-ray office for me too. He definitely gives his patients his own cell phone number too. I was with him for almost a full hour. I felt very taken care of.

To begin with, our appointment was scheduled for 5:30pm. He called me to let me know he had to take care of something and would be able to see me at 6pm. I don't know a lot of doctors that would have taken the time to call beforehand. Then when we met, he took the time to listen to my issue, asking specific questions to really understand what was wrong with me. He didn't try to "sell" me extra medications or tests. I am very glad and I am confident in his diagnosis. I really recommend him as it is not easy to find a doctor that takes the time to know you and really personalizes the appointment.

Felt very comfortable. Happy to have him as my pcp.

Dr. Bishop keeps very late hours and takes an interest in his patients. My only objections are that he wasn't even in the building when I arrived, that he allowed someone without an appointment to jump in front of me while I waited to see him, and that the office is otherwise empty except for him (it was a little creepy!)

He was very kind and sweet, gave me the necessary time to discuss medical issues. He addressed everything in a professional manner. Very gentle when drawing blood and giving me a shot. Haven't had this kind of medical visit in a very long time.

Dr. Bishop always takes his time, never rushes through an appointment. I have the utmost trust in his skills and feel absolutely safe with him!

Dr. Bishop saves my life. He is one of the most brilliant doctors in the business. He has a keen awareness of you as a patient and as an individual. I don't know what I'd do without him in New York.

It was great. He was very punctual and detailed. If he wasn't sure about something, he didnt pretend to know the answer, he looked it up and I prefer that. Doctors aren't experts in everything medical so they should pretend to be. He also was trying to force me to come back multiple times to deal with any issues. I gave my complaints and he took care of them right away.

He answered all my questions and I am happy that he will be my new Dr.

I have an early morning appointment with Dr. Bishop. I was there on time, but none of his staffs or himself was on time. I wait about an hour outside the doctor office. Dr. Bishop seems to be a friendly doctor, but his level of professionalism and patient care are extremely bad. My pharmacist tries to contact his stuff and him many times about my prescription, but they never response. I wasn’t able to get my prescription at all. I was dissatisfied the level of care they provide to patient.

Fantastic visit. Dr. Bishop is approachable and made me feel very comfortable. Very flexible hours of availability and wonderful bedside manner. Feeling good about both my treatment plan and the knowledge that I found a great PCP. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Bishop is a wonderful primary care physician. He is extremely attentive, knowledgable, and takes time to explain symptoms/diagnoses in a simple, but professional manner. Dr. Bishop makes himself available whenever needed, even if a formal appointment is not scheduled. Dr. Bishop was my first doctor since moving to Manhattan, and I could not have asked for a better primary care physician.

I always love Dr. Bishop. He has the most amazing memory and is always asking not only medical questions, but keeping up with the comings and goings of my life in general. Dr. Larry Bishop is my primary care physician, and I have recommended him to several friends. In short, he's great.

Dr Bishop was very nice and had a warm personality. He asked about where I grew up and what I did before getting down to the diagnosis, which I appreciate. My only negative comment is that with the 30 minute wait and an hour visit with Dr Bishop, I took way too much time off of work, which I will now need to make up. Perhaps he was a bit too friendly!

Very Flexible hours for the daytime worker.

Dr. Bishop was very personable, engaging, and warm as usual. He has excellent listening skills and a good memory. The blood work wasn't as good as in the past. He is usually quick such that I feel no pain but not this time. Doctor was probably tired. I highly recommend him though!

I was very disappointed with my visit to Dr. Bishop. His friendliness and bedside manner were refreshing, but to the extreme where it interfered with my ability to give him the necessary information regarding how I was feeling. I felt he only got half the information I was giving him because he would get sidetracked asking about something completely irrelevant. He was thorough, but after running tests and taking bloodwork, I was unable to get my results from him even after numerous attempts to contact him for this information. I'm now paying for tests when I've never seen or heard the results. All I can get is him on the phone telling me he's sure he would have called me if something was abnormal on the tests and he'll make sure and send me the results later this week. It's now been a few months and nothing yet. I would suggest going elsewhere.

Totally great experience

Dr. Bishop is a very warm doctor with a great sense of humor. He makes you feel at ease in no time. He took the time to go over the result of my labs, explaining to me what the numbers mean and answering all my questions. He is really dedicated to his patients. I highly recommend him!

I am relatively new to New York City. I have a new place to live, a new job and a new life and having a primary care physician like Dr. Bishop is an answered prayer. This was my second visit in order to fill a prescription. It was also very late in the evening yet Dr. Bishop was there waiting on me when I arrived. He spent almost an hour with me listening to my concerns and my needs. He was not only interested in my health, but also my life and well being. He is incredibly intelligent and offered suggestions for the immediate and distant future for living a better, healthier lifestyle. I left feeling so relieved that I have someone I can rely on and who invests time getting to know my entire life and not only when I'm ill or need medicine. Doctor was about an hour late to administer flu shot. When he got there, he checked his bag, realized he forgot the shot. Literally ran out to get the shot. After 20 more minutes, he came back, and gave me the shot. I should have run out when he did. Nice guy, maybe just having a bad day.
