DR. LISA RENFRO, a board-certified dermatologist, is also a Mohs surgeon and dermatologic surgeon. Her specialty is Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery, and she has performed over 12,000 cases of Mohs micrographic surgery and over 20,000 surgical excisions for skin cancer. She has extensive experience with basal cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma, in addition to sebaceous carcinoma, extramammary Paget’s disease, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, and microcystic adnexal carcinoma. Dr. Renfro also has extensive experience with the excision of malignant melanoma, having performed over 1,000 cases.
EDUCATION: Dr. Renfro received two undergraduate bachelor’s degrees, graduating Summa Cum Laude with election to Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Connecticut. She then graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at Boston University. Subsequently, she completed residency training in dermatology at New York University’s Skin and Cancer Hospital where she was appointed chief resident. She also served on the faculty of New York University as a clinical instructor, teaching at New York University Hospital and Bellevue Hospital. After receiving her board certification in general dermatology, she completed specialty fellowship training in dermatologic surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery, also at New York University’s Skin and Cancer Hospital.
