Dr. Mucelli definitely made an unexciting yet necessary exam go by as smoothly as possible. I waited roughly 5 minutes before I sat with him to go over my medical history. During the exam we had a casual conversation which took my mind off of things. Over all, he's a genuinely nice person and great doctor as he offered potentially cheaper alternatives to the prescription I'm taking. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Dr.Mucelli is an extraordinary man. I have known him for at least 30 years, he delivered all 3 of my girls and now he treats them as well. There aren't enough words to describe him and the knowledge he has. There isn't anything he can't help with. He has also referred me to many colleagues regarding other specialties. They have always delivered the same courteous and wise service. Go to Dr.Mucelli and trust me you won't be disappointed!

Dr. Mucelli is as wonderful as the other reviews say. I'm 39, and this is the first OB/GYN I've really liked. Unlike most doctors today, Dr. Mucelli started the appointment in his office and just talked to me -- about my concerns, about my life, etc. It was so nice to feel like a human being in a doctor's office. Sad that I have to say that, but it's true. He's also extremely knowledgeable, and one of the easiest exams I've ever had. I've been disappointed by so many gyns in the past. I'm so glad I finally found someone like Dr. Mucelli!

I have known Dr Mucielli for over 20 years. He and Dr Muchiola if I spelled his name cooectly delivered my son. He is very knowledgeable personable-he knows my sister whom I recommended and she stiill continues to see Dr Mucielli and he asks for her when I have my annual check ups. There was literally no wait at all after I filled out the necessary paper work. Another OB GYN had told me that I would require some significant procedures right away. I wanted to get a second opinion as I had doubts if that was the best next step. Based on zocdoc reviews i chose Dr. Mucelli and he exceeded my expectations in every way. As a pacient coming from another country, and not knowing anyone in town, I confess that I was a bit nervous before the appointment. However I was surprised in a very positive way by Dr. Mucelli. He was very polite and took his time talking to me about my (and my family's) medical history, something very rare nowadays. The exam itself went smoothly as he explained to me each step of the process. Even when I found out that the birth control pill that I'm used to is not available in the US, he gave me samples of a similar one so I can see if I adapt well. I was very impressed and will definitely go back for future exams.

I've been seeing Dr. Mucelli for close to 5 years now. He really is the best gynecologist ever that I have seen. He remembers you and has a gentleness and kindness about him that makes you feel no anxiety about such a visit. After the exam is complete, you always go into his office to discuss any concerns you might have. He really takes his time with each patient, but patients in the waiting room are not left waiting for long because he schedules appointments half-hour apart instead of 10/15 minutes other doctors do. Love him; he can't retire! I wouldn't know where to go.

I have to start off by saying I LOVE Dr Mucelli. I love him so much I travel from Brooklyn all the way to his office on 57 st just to see him. He used to work at a clinic in Brooklyn and when he left I was devastated. But I found him and he hasn’t changed. He takes the time to talk with you about concerns that you may be having no matter how small they may seem. He doesn’t rush you and he is so professional. I was skeptical that all the good reviews for Dr. Mucelli were too good to be true. I'm here to tell you they are! I'm an actual human being who saw Dr. Mucelli for an appointment today. I've never found a doctor in NYC I would even consider recommending to others until now. Firstly - Saturday appointments? What is this, some sort of fantasy land? Second - the office location on 57th St. is in a freakin' gorgeous building. The Tommy Hilfger offices are right down the hall from Dr. Mucelli's office. Awesome much? ...sidenote, don't be confused that his name is not on the office door. I thought I was in the wrong place but I wasn't. Third - bedside manner. This guy is a real live human being with manners, an interest in you as a patient and a person, and generally an old-timey professional that you'd imagine making house calls back in the day. We spent a good 15 minutes just chatting about my health history, family, and job. Fourth - quality medical services. My annual exam was a breeze, but he didn't breeze through it hurriedly. He gave me advice on birth control that I've been trying to find and haven't been able to (specifically, what birth control can I get through my shitty insurance that won't cost an arm and a leg?) He diagnosed a minor bacterial infection also, and smartly prescribed me a non-nausea-causing treatment. Fifth - his office scale cut a good 10 pounds off my weight. I mean, I weighed myself this morning, but his scale made me feel like a skinny princess. I've raved enough. Just wanted to assure you that this guy is a real deal old school doctor who will treat you like a human being and make you wonder where he's been all your life.

We chatted for about 15 minutes in his office before even going into a patient room because we wanted to get to know me and hear everything I had to say. Dr. Mucelli was excellent! I was a bit intimidated in my search for a doctor since there are so many to choose from in NYC. But Dr. Mucelli was so highly recommended on every website, and with good reason. He was gentle and very easy to talk to. I could tell that he genuinely cares for his patients. I also loved that I easily made a Saturday appointment to see him.

He's a great doctor and took the time and patience to make sure I understood the tests and the possible results. It was a major improvement from the GYN I had been seeing before who withheld a lot of information that I didn't know better to ask for.

Wow. I didn't know going to the OBGYN could be so easy. I've had a hard time finding doctors in NYC that view their patients as actual humans. Dr. Mucelli is clearly invested in his patients and takes the time to meet you, learn about your history, and address any concerns. I did not feel rushed or uncomfortable at all.

I had a weekend appointment at the uptown location. Dr. Mucelli was the only one in the office, which felt extremely weird (not even anyone at the front desk). It clearly is not his office since his name was not on the door and none of the diplomas on the wall in the office were his. The examination room seemed dirty and an earlier patient's speculum was sitting in the sink. The doctor grabbed a pap smear brush from an uncovered glass on the dusty counter. Dr. Mucelli was very friendly, caring, and attentive, but I probably won't be back, at least not on the weekend and not at that unsanitary location.

He is amazing! Takes his time. Listens. Old school and no "NY " rush there ! I did not wait to be seen! Fab!

Dr. Mucelli was incredibly kind, thoughtful, professional and intelligent. It was one of the most comfortable appointments I've had with a new doctor. He took the time to speak with me outside of the exam room, which made me feel like a human being not simply a patient. He also took the time to get a thorough medical history and to explain the follow up process. As a woman, it can be uncomfortable or intimidating to be seen by a male gynecologist, but Dr. Mucelli made the entire process comfortable and easy. His office is clean, beautiful and inspires confidence. I would highly recommend him to any of my female friends.

If only every dr. were like him, we would all be happier and healthier! He's one of the kindest dr's I have ever met. Cannot say enough good things about him.

Louis Mucelli is, without a doubt, THE best gynecologist I have ever been to. He is kind, very thorough, and informative. He took my medical history and asked a lot of questions (not just about my history, but about my family and interests as well! Conversation from a NYC doctor...INCREDIBLE!). I just recently moved to NYC and was nervous about finding a new gynecologist, but Dr. Mucelli completely put my mind at ease and made the appointment less stressful than usual. Nobody likes going to the gyno, but Dr. Mucelli made it pretty darn bearable. Great guy, clearly knows what he's doing. Though if you make a Saturday appointment, keep leaning on that buzzer--Dr. Mucelli was the only person in the office, so it took a while for him to hear me to let me in!

Visits to gynecologist are always awkward, top that with a male doctor and the radar of sensitivity doubles. But doctor Louis is a great doctor and equally great gentleman. He made me feel very comfortable by talking to me as a person before the examination. He spoke about my culture and what is considered appropriate or not. He respected some of what he heard and made sure that the procedure didnt feel invasive. he is very smart and is not one of those doctors that just push their opinion and multiple tests your way. Dr. Mucelli is the sweetest doctor you'll find. I was a bit hesitant to go to a male gynecologist, but as the other reviewers have said, he puts you at ease. He is patient, caring, knowledgeable and absolutely loves what he does. He is very old school; he calls you the day before to confirm your appointment, he takes your medical history himself and he explains everything that he's doing. He makes it very easy to ask questions and he gives very easy to understand answers. I'd love to have him as my doctor for as long as he's still practicing.

Everyone already raves about his bedside manner, so I won't do that (and yes, he deserves every single one of them). I want to comment on his very speedy response rate. He wrote me a prescription, but when I got to the drugstore, they had to call the doctor because I wanted brand name instead of generic (even though the Rx is for brand name; my insurance company automatically fills generics). I do my shopping then go back to drugstore 2 hours later to check and Dr. Mucelli has already oked it with the drugstore...on a Saturday. I know his Saturday practice is completely solo (no receptionist or assistant), so in addition to taking insurance info himself, seeing patients, cleaning up the exam rooms after each patient, he even made time to respond to drugstore requests. I am truely amazed.

Would never consider another doctor for my gyno needs, Dr Mucelli is a gem

As always, Dr. Mucelli was timely, kind, courteous and professional. He is the best doctor I have ever had.

The best doctor i've been too. He's so thorough and you can talk to him about everything!

I usually dread going to see the OBGYN so I went into the appointment with every intention to get out ASAP. To my pleasant surprise, Dr. Mucelli took the time to get to know my background (he even filled out my medical history himself as he went through each topic on the form with me) and detailedly addressed each of my concerns. I tend to ask dumb questions due to my extremely limited medical knowledge and have in the past been asked by another doctor whether I really didn't know a certain terminology before she proceeded to answer the question with exasperation. Dr. Mucelli, however, was very accommodating and immediately made me feel comfortable. I also love that he's available during after-work hours and on Saturdays. Now that's dedication!

Dr. Mucelli is great! He was very patient in addressing all of my concerns and understanding my history. I felt very comfortable and well educated.

Very thorough and attentative. Usually going to the doctor is a disconcerting experience but Dr. Mucelli was very personalble and took his time to listen to my concerns and explain everything in plain terms.

I had the best experience with Dr. Mucelli. I was first impressed by him calling me personally the night before my appointment to confirm it. He asked me questions about my visit and assured me that he would address all of my questions. When I arrived at his office, he was sitting at the desk waiting for me and one other patient. While we waited for his first patient, he very kindly and casually spoke to me about anything and everything. He made me so comfortable and I was impressed with how he dealt directly with the patients. My exam went smoothly, he took his time to sit down with me and answer any questions I had. I never once felt rushed, or ignored like other OBGYN's. He was GREAT : )

I found Dr. Mucelli through ZocDoc and saw for the first time last year (and have seen him several times since). Initially, I called and left a message for him on Christmas Eve due to discomfort I was having with birth control prescribed by my former doctor. Dr. Mucelli called me back less than an hour later and allowed me, a new patient, to make an appointment for the next day, Christmas Day. He then followed up with me a few days later on a Sunday, just to make sure I was okay. Dr. Mucelli's sense of patient care and service is above and beyond any other doctor I have ever known. I will continue to go to him as long as he is in practice-as will my close friends who have also become patients due to my high recommendations and the level of expertise and interest provided by Dr. Mucelli.

He is what every dr.should be, lovely, caring.

Dr. Mucelli was extremely professional and personable. He answered all of my questions thoroughly, and I felt confident (given his extensive background) in his responses. He was easy to talk to and made me feel at ease, which can be difficult during those exams.

Right away, I felt perfectly at ease with Dr. Mucelli who was professional and gentle. I would feel comfortable talking with him about any health concerns or questions, and I will definitely continue to see him as my regular gynecologist. Easy, nice location in the Fuller Building, which happens to be where I get my eyebrows threaded, so I popped up there afterwards.

This was such a pleasant surprise. I was using ZocDoc for the first time and found Dr. Mucelli. I was very hesitant about this site because choosing a doctor is a very personal decision and using the internet to do so, sounds weird. I saw all of his wonderful reviews online and I thought I should give him a chance. I was so surprised to get a confimation call from Dr. Mucelli HIMSELF the day of my appointment.I couldn't believe he was calling me in person to work out his schedule. It seemed so abnormal that it made me nervous. His hours were convenient and I was able to see him after work in the middle of the week. His office is located in a gorgeous building in midtown (right around the corner from my apt, it was so convenient!)He greeted me at the front door and escorted me back to an office where we sat for 45 minutes talking about my past medical history. It seemed more like I was talking to a friend than a doctor. He was very thorough and kind through out the entire process. As for the actual exam he was gentle and made me feel extremely comfortable. He is so knowledgable about the ob/gyn field and it is clear that he is passionate about his profession. At the end of the visit I asked him if he was still performing deliveries because I wanted him to deliver my children in the future :) I left the office smiling and called all of my friends and told them that they have to see Dr. Mucelli in the future.

Dr. Mucelli has an extremely calming presence. He repeatedly checked to see if I had any questions and carefully covered my medical history. This was by far the most comfortable annual exam I have ever had.

Dr. Mucelli really listens to everything you tell him, considers all your symptoms, and tries to find the underlying reasons for any problems, instead of just prescribing something to mask what is really going on. He's been very patient trying to help me, and very reassuring with my worries.

Most doctors nowadays treat their patients just as contributors to their business and do not make you feel like you are being taken care of. Dr. Mucelli definitely is not one to act that way. Considering that Dr. Mucelli works alone in his office, the wait isn't so bad. I never felt ignored or unattended to. He returns every phone call personally! As big as his clientele base is, my visits are very personal. I'm one of those patients that asks a million questions - he answers every with a smile. What i LOVE about Doc is he has this 2nd nature to what he does. My 1st visit to him was for a 2nd opinion after my regular gynecologist found lumps in my breast and suggested that I have a mammogram. Dr. Mucelli said I was young for a mammogram & assured me that a sonogram will identify a cyst, which is what He felt I had. Sure enough - no lumps. I love Dr. Mucelli. I feel comfortable and confident having him as my Gynecologist.

Dr. Mucelli is a wonderful doctor who has great bedside manners. I highly recommend him.

Apart from being polite, he is very sensible as a doctor - practical when he assesses the patient. He does not over react or underplay anything. And more importantly, he does not recommend unnecessary medications or examinations. He is somebody whose judgments I would trust completely. But I would however urge him to hire a secretary soon so he could retrieve patients documents without wasting his precious time - he is busy teaching as well. He, as many know, is teaching at the NYU medical school.

Dr. Mucelli is by far the best gynecologist I've ever been to. From the moment he meets you, he puts you at ease. He takes his time with both the exam and the discussions before and after the exam. Because he spends most of his time teaching at NYU, his hours are limited and a bit atypical, and his name is not on the door outside of the office, but don’t let any of that discourage you. If anything, I think it’s a benefit to have someone who clearly has a lot of experience, learns, teaches and keeps up with the newest techniques, and loves what he does enough to continue practicing in addition to his teaching. I would recommend Dr. Mucelli to absolutely anyone.

I thought Dr. Mucelli was Excellent. His patience and bedside manner was awesome. I am one of those type of people that feel like i would like a woman as a GYN doctor however i took a chance on him and it was one of the best decisions i made. Wonderful Doctor and a true gentleman. Clearly incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. I was very nervous about this visit and he made me feel perfectly at ease. The practice set-up and the way the receptionists interact with you is a little strange because he does not have a permanent office there any more, but don't let that put you off.

Was a little hesitant at first. Even when I was sitting in the waiting room I was thinking about bolting out the door; however, within the first 5 minutes of talking with Dr. Mucelli, I was totally at ease. Dr. Louis A. Mucelli is the best doctor I have ever met since i was a kid. He is great, very talented, knows a lot and very tolerant. I had a great experience. That was my first visit to the male gynecologist, but I felt comfortable and calm. I recommend Dr. Mucelli to every woman that really cares about herself and who wants to know a little bit about herself.
