When patients need compassionate and thorough OB-GYN care in a comfortable environment, they come to Dr. Mahippa Pallimulla. While his main specialty is OB-GYN,
he also holds a surgical sub-specialty. Dr. Pallimulla runs the OB clinic at St. Mary’s hospital - a position he has held for over ten years.
He began his medical education at Mahinda College, in Galle, Sri Lanka, where he earned his GCE A Level in 1971. He then went on to study at Second Medical College of Moscow State University, where he earned his MD in 1978. Dr. Pallimulla went straight into earning his diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology the next year, and completed two residencies at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center - the first in internal medicine and the second a four-year residency in OB-GYN.
A true international citizen, Dr. Pallimulla served as a medical officer in Guyana for 12 years at Georgetown Hospital’s OB-GYN department. He also believes strongly in teaching other people in his field, and so he served as teaching attending for six years at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He holds the prestigious title of Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
