Professional Statement:

Dr. Epstein is an Adult Psychiatrist practicing in Manhattan. He was born and raised in a small Pennsylvania town and attended college at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey. His interest in the human mind was fostered at an early age and followed him through college and into medical school. He completed his medical school training at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida and then completed his Adult Psychiatry training at Columbia University’s teaching hospital, St. Lukes-Roosevelt. After residency Dr. Epstein completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center. While at Beth Israel, Dr. Epstein researched the use of sleep aids with insomnia in substance abuse disorders. Dr. Epstein has lectured to medical students, residents and health care professionals on the treatment of acute agitation in psychiatric emergencies. Dr. Epstein is trained to treat all adult psychiatric disorders. His areas of specialty include Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Sleep Disturbances as well as Addictive Disorders with an emphasis on both Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology. Dr. Epstein is licensed to prescribe Suboxone, a specialized medication used in the treatment of opioid (e.g. Vicodin, Norco, Lortab, Percocet, Oxycontin, heroin) dependence. Dr. Epstein’s holistic approach incorporates an individuals physical health as well as mental health and treatment plans are developed based upon the patients needs.
