It was my first experience with GYN in US and I am very glad I found this doctor. Marianna was very attentive, kind and seemed knowledgeable. She is very pleasant person and makes you feel very comfortable and relaxing.
Waited 45 minutes for a useless visit. Would not recommend this doctor.
I think Dr. Shimelfarb is a wonderful doctor, just sweet and kind I was so happy to know that now I have a doctor to go to:)
Very nice and professional making patient comfortable.
she was very kind an explained things clearly. She had a on looker today and she did a good job helping her understand what she needed to know and helping me with my problem
She is very efficient, courteous and knowledgeable, but she spent more time looking at the computer than anything else. This is common, however, and rather than letting it bother me, I focused instead on how much I appreciated her openness to my own priorities for care. I liked her very much and would recommend her.
Dr. Borkovskaya is a lovely, intelligent doctor. I feel confident in her abilities as a medical professional. I went to her for my primary care, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she offers gynecological care to her primary care patients. I don't have to make two different appointments!!
wonderful
Totally awesome, professional, and nice. What could have been awkward went smoothly and matter-of-factly, and I'll definitely be seeing her again.
Great Doctor! Answered all of my questions, i would reccomend her to anyone, looking for a solid calm doctor!
Very nice, helpful, and efficient. I'll definitely go back.
Nice, professional and knowledgable, office management was poor. Long wait.
Warm, friendly, thorough. Marianna will now be my regular Dr.!
Dr. Shimelfarb is warm and accessible, and answered all my questions.
She was wonderful!!! I was nervous getting blood drawn during my appointment, but she made me feel extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend goofing to this doctor.
I was a patient of Maureen Suter before she left and I am very happy to have found Dr. Shimelfarb. She was understanding and thorough, I did not feel rushed.
Dr. Shimelfarb was very pleasant with a great bedside manner and she took her time inquiring about what was ailing me.
I made an 8:00am appointment, thinking I would avoid waiting too long, but I still waited until 8:25 because the doctor had not yet arrived at the office. Her bedside manner was ok, not great. She recommended a homeopathic remedy that I will have to research on my own to make sure it's ok. Not my favorite at Westside Family Medicine!
I've been coming to this practice since I moved to NYC in 2009 and this is the first time I've met with Dr. Shimelfarb. I have been suffering from severe tonsillitis and I was extremely frustrated and emotional when I came in for my appointment. I was seen right away and Dr. Shimelfarb was so incredibly nice to me. She was very comforting and kept assuring me I'd be okay. Her top priority was making sure that I was comfortable and I sincerely appreciated that. Her bedside manner is great! I'd highly recommend her to others.
Great bedside manner, friendly, calm. She seemed at ease with her assessment, and quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem. She wasn't even wearing the typical scrubs...she had on sandals and a sundress! :)
Marianna was excellent. She wanted to get to the root of my problem versus just putting a bandaid on it. I really appreciate when a Dr. listens to you and wants to prevent your problem in the future instead of just giving it a temporary fix. She also recommended a more natural approach instead of just going straight to pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Shimelfarb is great. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and is reassuring and straightforward.
I had a routine check-up. The doctor was pleasant and answered a few questions I had. Nothing felt rushed.
Very competent and knowledgable. Could improve bedside manner.
Attentive to my questions and I got what I needed.
She was very pleasant and took her time with me asking me questions, but made it so I was more than comfortable answering. She was very informed about things that I was concerned about.
She was friendly, knowledgeable, and I like her mind-body approach.
She's great. She's engaging. She educates without lecturing. She is considerate. And she focuses on the right things. I liked her a lot, and if I were staying in the city, I would keep her as my primary physician because she is very aware and intuitive.
very nice and friendly!
wonderful appointment
She was wonderful- knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, respectful, and wholistic in her approach.
She was very gentle, thoughtful and compassionate, and quite thorough.
competent, responsive, and very easy to talk to.
Dr. Shimelfarb was extremely nice and took the time to ask me a lot about my diet and health. She seemed highly knowledgeable and gave me great advice. I will definitely see her again.
Dr. Shimelfarb was very professional. She was thorough, friendly, and made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in good hands.
I'm happy to find this perfect doctor for my family
I really like Marianna, she has a great manner and is very personable.
She was very nice, she knew exactly what she was talking about. I liked her... Was kind of a long wait but it happens, I'd recommend her.
Dr. Shimelfarb is terrific. She's very understanding, she listens carefully, and discusses options clearly. She's the first doctor I have really connected with in a long time.
I came in for a sick visit. She is very approachable and nice. I will go back!
Very caring and comprehensive approach to my global health, not just physical.
Excellent
Very pleasant doctor, very sweet, attentive: my daughter was very fond of her, answered to her questions. She gave my daughter (4.5) a vaccination shot HERSELF. To my big surprise - it was PAINLESS!!! My daughter not even complained: before/during/or after the shot. I will go again and again. A+++ highly recommend.
Dr. Marianna Borkovskaya Shimelfarb is very professional, attentive, caring and insightful. She knows what she does, and you can absolutely 100% trust her. When I talked to her I started feeling better right away, having one thought in my head - I'm in good hands, everything's going to be just great. :-)
She is so great. She makes you feel so comfortable and is very calming. She listens to you talk and really cares about your health.
Long wait, but really liked the doctor!
She has such amazing peaceful energy. I felt comfortable and very well listened to. We shared about how I really like to live all naturally, what my other birth control options might be besides the pill and I learned that she is a supporter of working with the body to stay healthy and feel great. I am going to tell all my friends who are looking for someone to go to her. I've been looking for someone for sometime and this was a great experience.
she is really wonderful and so personal and attentive.
I had a visit with her back in December, and my son had a physical with her, and we both loved her. Very open, easy to connect with, down to earth, great doctor.
Dr. Shimelfarb was very nice, and approachable. She seems quite knowledgeable and was willing to answer questions clearly. She seems like a good doctor, and a good human being, which isn't always the case with physicians.
She was very nice & professional!
I had to wait 40 minutes which was not optimal. And then my visit was less than 5. I think the diagnosis was accurate but was surprised at how quick the visit was.
Dr. Shimelfarb was very nice and understanding. I felt like she was definitely listening to my concerns and offered a few recommendations to my question. I have liked every doctor I have ever seen at Westside Family Medicine!
I had to wait about 50 minutes for a 5 min consultation.
She was polite, efficient and friendly.
It was a long wait and she did not give me much time. I did not feel like she was open to exploring any causes of my symptoms.
Very to the point and helpful. Really liked my experience there.
Straight-forward, smart and friendly.
Lovely doctor, great manner. Easy to talk to.
She was very pleasant and easy to talk too...made my time at the doctors office that much more easier.
She was very friendly, conscientious, helpful, and she is hot. Very hot.
Very positive experience! Wonderful bedside manner, prompt, and informative.
One of the worst doctors I have ever been to in my life. First of all, I had an appointment at 1:00, didn't end up seeing her until about 1:40 (no apology for the long wait). That itself is not necessarily terrible, but she basically acted like she did not even feel like seeing patients. As a student, I don't have a lot of time, or money to throw around on co-pays, so I make sure to try to address any issues that I have in one session. I understand if a doctor does not have enough time to deal with every issue, but do expect them to adequately deal with the ones that they do address. I went to her with a skin problem, and she glanced at it, and said that looks like eczema. Yeah, that's what I think it looks like too, which is why I'd expect to go to a doctor so they can either run tests, ask relevant questions, or make sure it isn't anything more serious. In the past, other doctors have actually put on gloves, looked at the are with a light at least, or taken skin samples. She gave me the impression that she was simply too lazy to do anything further and wanted to get me out of the room so she could catch up on her already late schedule. Additionally, I went for back pain that had been bothering me for over a year, and she recommended me to another doctor. I asked her if she could just check it out since I really did not have time to make another appointment, and she grudgingly poked at my spine and said she was not sure. What a waste of co-pay and time for this appointment. This entire process lasted about 7 minutes.
Dr. Shimelfarb was patient, kind and confident.
m
She was great! No complaints.
My first time for an exam as this one. I was nervous but she put me at ease right away. I will definitely be going back to her!
I was impressed that she was supportive of my use of an acupuncturist.
She was prompt, approachable, and reassuring. She took enough time with me and did not seem too rushed. She answered my questions. I would definitely recommend her.
She was adequate and efficient, but definitely not the level of bedside manner I'm accustomed to receiving at Westside Family Medicine. Perhaps it was because she was running 40 mins behind. The reason I stay with this practice is the above and beyond level of kindness and approachability of the doctor's I've seen (Drs. Stoepker,Rubin and Bertie Bregman). I really wish the whole practice would get a handle on their wait times because I rarely get seen less than 30 mins after my appointment time.
She was very calm and listened to my questions/concerns. She had follow up questions and asked it I was OK with getting updated shots and explained why.
Dr. Shimelfarb was excellent. She was thorough with her questioning and the exam, explained things clearly and we even had a good laugh. I would definitely recommend her.
Dr. Shimelfarb was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. My visit was quick and efficient.
A bit lecturing, I felt, without cause. The doctor gave me alot of unsolicited advice which seemed like a "broadcast" rather than something tailored to me. I have a feeling this is simply her natural manner - perhaps instead of changing it, she could listen first, or ask questions that help to focus her advice. Also had a bad time getting blood drawn by the technician, and had to hear the snide comment "are you alive?" Hmm, definitely a first for me. I would've told her off, but thought better of it given the needle sticking in my arm.
She was very nice and explained everything very well and she seems very professional. I left with a good sensation.
I don't usually enjoy going to the doctor but she was sweet and attentive. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I would definitely recommend her.
