My philosophy is that a physician must be knowledgeable about the skin, both in health and disease, to provide excellent and comprehensive treatment. A patient should not have to have two dermatologists, one for medical problems and one for cosmetic problems. In this office we treat both.

Excellent appointment!! She was thorough and efficient, but also really chatty and pleasant. I feel very confident she quickly diagnosed my issue and proscribed appropriate treatment. I'll definitely come back if I need to.

Dr Buchness was very professional gave me time to fully explain my concerns before providing me with her diagnosis. I did find it very odd having to pay before my appointment and when I commented on this to the receptionist she just told me it was office policy - I have never had to do this at any other medical office in Manhattan! They also told me they would only accept cash or cheques next time (I only had my credit card this appointment) - I thought this was also very odd for a professional establishment.

The nurse who I had was incredibly professional and Dr. Buchness has an easy manner and a sense of humor. I think the only things I found off putting was the wait, which was apologized for multiple times due to unusual circumstances and the appearance of the office which seems very geared towards cosmetic treatments. No one tried to up-sell any procedures or products, I just felt a little more self-conscious than I ordinarily would at a doctor's office that was more clinical and less spa like.

Dr. Buchness was very capable, which is not surprising given that she was Harvard/Columbia/NYU trained. I'm very pleased with my service once I actually got to see her. That being said, her office was disorganized, kept me waiting 5 minutes before even acknowledging me (apparently it was more important that the front desk staff finish their chat), and then asked that I provide the same information multiple times, despite my having entered it online. I was then told there was a 30 minute wait, and encouraged to see her PA instead of her if I didn't want to wait. Since I work next door (and hence needn't waste 30 minutes) I left the office and requested that they call me when she was ready. They called me less than 5 minutes later, but then kept me waiting for 25 minutes when I returned. While this was frustrating and unprofessional, I'm still giving her 4 stars because what matters most is the quality of care which was top notch (and good clerical staff are hard to find).

AWESOME!! Waited less than 10 minutes to see Dr. Buchness. She was honest, knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions honestly. Beautiful office at a very convenient location. Her P.A. is also just as helpful!
