Dr. Maynard is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon practicing out of the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of sports medicine injuries and advanced arthroscopic techniques for shoulder, knee, and hip disorders.
Dr. Michael Maynard is a 1975 graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. He later spent two years as an engineering graduate student and ROTC instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From MIT he went onto Cornell University Medical College where he received his MD degree in 1985. His orthopedic residency training was taken at Hospital for Special Surgery. Thereafter, he continued at HSS for a fellowship year in joint replacement under Chitranjan Ranawat, MD, and Thomas Sculco, MD, and a second fellowship year in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery under Russell Warren, MD.

Excellent bedside manner, was patient with questions, informative and very nice. My last ortho doc didn't even bother ordering me for an MRI.
this office really needs to work on punctuality. but Dr. Maynard is wonderful and i would recommended anyone to see him, just dont expect a lunch hour appt to be on time.
He is very empathetic with the patient and takes into account what the patient has to tell him, something not so usual in physicians of his quality level.
