Dr. Salgado is a native San Diegan who graduated from UCSD in 1998, and completed his medical school training at the University of California-Davis School of
Medicine. During medical school he completed a pre-doctoral research fellowship in the study of Hearing Loss.
Dr. Salgado was selected for the General Surgery Internship program at Stanford University Hospital, and upon completion, he returned to UC Davis for a residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. His residency included an additional year of Fellowship-level training in Laryngology, which focused on Voice and Swallowing Disorders. He also had the privilege of working as an integral part of the Laryngeal Transplant Team, and participated in the second ever voice box transplant surgery.
Dr. Salgado is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital-La Jolla, and Scripps Memorial Hospital-Encinitas. He is a member of the California Medical Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngology- head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He is dedicated to international medicine and has joined medical missions in Peru, the Philippines and in Zimbabwe.
Dr.Salgado has a special interest in Voice and Swallowing Disorders, but his practice included all aspects of Otolaryngology.
