Dr. Nader Galal MD

I was very nicely surprised since I have seen oter specialists in his field and I haven't been happy. I highly recommend him and I am grateful.

Dr. Galal is always attentive and doesn't make me feel rushed. He has made a significant change in my well-being. He thoughtfully and carefully managed my medication in a way that has given me the best possible care. If all doctors were like Dr. Galal's, healthcare might not be so broken.

He is a positive force , he is very experienced and very well seasoned . He gets to the point and is very open and flexible to work with you.

One of the receptionists was really great! Very friendly and professional. The other young woman was unfriendly and not professional AT ALL. I was unaware that there were late fees associated with an appointment not canceled within 24 hours. She had a snotty tone when telling me this over the phone. Dr. Galal isn't all that friendly. Maybe it is just because he is more on the quiet side, but when entering his office for my appointment he muttered, "hello" and then spent time reading my information on the computer for about 10 minutes. He obviously didn't take great notes because he forgot a bunch of things that we had talked about in my last appointment. He said that because I didn't see him within a month exactly that he forgot. Before being able to talk to him about my medications he just printed out new prescriptions and then wanted to send me on my way. He isn't good at communicating at all during appointments. Ask me how things are going!

So grateful that Dr. Galal is here in Astoria... Great care and such a convenient location!

Dr Galal is very professional and I don't think I would see another dr ...

My initial consultation with Dr. Nadar went very well. I only had to wait about 10 minutes in the waiting room to see him. He set the agenda and the time expectation right at the beginning our our meeting. His questions were specific and had follow up questions to my answers to gain better clarity. Overall I was very happy with this visit. I see him again and would recommend him to others.

He has a very soothing demeanor. I am recommending him to a friend of mine who is not happy with her doctor.

It was my first visit, and I thought the doctor was professional and thorough. However the office had music playing that was annoying. Probably better to have none. Also a very strong air freshener was somewhat nauseating. Will go back, though.

My visit to Dr. Galal exceeded my expectations or the reviews I read! He is very knowledgeable but what impressed me the most was that he actually took the time to listen. He even went out of his way to help me with additional information - prescription issues that I had. Awesome doctor!

I am glad to have found Dr. Galal finally! I have had a really hard time finding a reliable doctor with whom I feel comfortable here in Astoria. The office atmosphere was welcoming and the location is extremely convenient!

Waited for 2min only. He is knowledgeable, conscientious, prompt. The others there are nice as well, pleasant office, close to subway. This is much better than the other doctors I've seen.

My general physician referred me to Dr Galal and since then I saw him a couple of times. I returned to Dr Galal because he is very polite and takes his time. He asks specific questions and doesn't make me feel judged or ridiculed. I don't know the experience of others, but there was no problem with my insurance. Overall, I am very happy about the visits at his practice, and I am going to return.

Dr. Galal makes you feel as though you are on a conveyor built. He is very in and out, which is not so atypical of many psychiatrists in general. However, I made an appointment several days in advance. Dr. Galal is aware of my insurance and the fact that I had an appointment. He had ample time to inform me that he would no longer accept my insurance, even if he had found out that same day as he claims. Regardless, he was totally unsympathetic, refused to see me after I had traveled from downtown Manhattan, and knowing that I am a graduate student. Being that the incident was no fault of my own, at the very least, he could have given me prorated price, or refilled my prescription and seen me, even if only briefly.

Dr was not sympathetic At All to insurance. I was told they could not waste time sorting it out...good luck

I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Galel but I will say that his receptionist was rude and not helpful. Not to mention it was extremely difficult to understand anything she was saying because she was blasting pop music from a stereo on her desk and refused to make eye contact or annunciate. Call me crazy, but when you're seeing a psychiatrist for the first time every moment of the visit counts, and the interactions you have with people in the office can determine whether or not you will be returning.

He is very low keyed, and does work with you on finding the medication that best suits your needs.

Professional, straight forward, and the receptionist was pleasant and helpful.. I hardly rate anything excellent so good to me is good, meaning not bad, I've had bad appts other places before and they I'd say ranged from bad to hardly helpful, so no complaints

Even-tempered, honest, and understanding. Did not make me feel like I was irrational or being judged- I appreciate how willing he was to hear me out without saying much at all.

It was my first time visit. He was very professional. Made me feel comfortable was able to speak openly. He took the right approach to my situation. Would definitely go back and/or recommend him.

He was very laid back and easy to talk to. I felt comfortable and not judged. He trusted what I was feeling and didn't try to over analyze my problem, he just talked through it with me.

He listened well, but didn't offer much. I didn't ask questions. He asked good clarifying questions and gave me what I was looking for, but I'm still not sure what his philosopy or approach are. I would like a psychiatrist to talk more about what his views are about my diagnosis.

Highly professional and very helpful. Although not very 'warm' he is certainly efficient and will help you get to the root cause of your problem...He's great but the practice gets very busy so I recommend bringing reading material because on average, waiting time seems to be 30 min....
