Dr. Po Ching Fong MD, FACOG

Super-comprehensive (did a full workup and found my Vitamin D levels were low), professional and kind.

I had heard wonderful things about Dr. Fong from friends who see her. The wait time was quite short this time, shorter than I expected and planned for (which was a nice surprise at a Dr's office!). Even after hearing all the wonderful things, Dr. Fong was still better than I expected. Best doctor experience in a long long time. I definitely will keep her as long as I can!

Dr. Fong was fantastic- very professional and very personable. She made me feel very at ease and she seems like she genuinely cares. I would strongly recommend her to anyone. The wait time was a bit long - I was told the doctor was running behind. But the appointment was worth the wait! The staff was very friendly as well, which I find to be a rare occurrence in doctors offices.

The wait was longer than I expected (ie. 45 minutes), but she was quick and personable. She made me feel comfortable, and definitely was more than willing to answer any questions I had. I felt that she was very knowledgeable. The nurses were also friendly as well.

Dr. Fong was friendly, efficient, and put me at ease.. I'm usually very nervous about doctor visits but she was great. I also liked the online system that they have, and the staff there is excellent as well. Answered all my questions. There was a time when an attending nurse skipped over my appointment-- ended up waiting 40 minutes for a 20 second booster shot, but I'll disregard that as a fluke.

The wait time was excessive. I waited for 30 minutes before being seen. I was not happy when I was finally led to my room. I was not an easy person to win over, but Dr. Fong won me over! She was absolutely fantastic, attentive and genuine. I didn't feel rushed, which is rare for a doctor's office. I have already recommended her to several of my friends.

I was really pleased with Dr. Po Ching Fong. I needed to book an appointment quickly, and they were able to see my right away. She was very friendly, listened to my questions, and gave me very thorough answers. She didn't seemed rushed at all. Dr. Fong was wonderful! There was a little wait in between seeing the nurse and the doctor (about 30 minutes), but that's about normal. Dr. Fong answered all my questions, and asked regularly if I needed any additional information, and filled me in on her experience with all the medications I was asking about. I didn't feel rushed at all, and was really grateful for the time she spent with me. Definitely a positive experience (for a procedure that's generally unpleasant!).

Dr. Fong is truly a gem. After numerous lack-luster experiences with doctors of all specialties, she is a cut above the rest when it comes to caring for her patients. The wait in this office is terrible, but I know it is because she is busy giving the type of personalized attention she gives to me to each patient. She is very thorough, I don't usually do the "just in case" tests, but her caution caught something that otherwise would have gone undetected.

This was only my second time going to a gynecologist. The first time I went to someone, who wasn't that friendly and I was very nervous. I picked Dr. Po Ching Fong because of all the good reviews on her bed side manner and she delivered. Very easy to talk to, I asked her a million questions. I'll definitely be going back. I didn't think my visit this year with Dr. Fong could be better than last year - but the new office location is amazing! it's so easy to get to from any subway and I was seen right away. Dr Fong remembered everything about me and by the time we were done chatting and catching up from last year - my exam was over too. amazing!

Wait time in the office was quick, but the actual time to see the doctor was a bit longer than I anticipated. Also, the check-in process at the building takes awhile so be sure to get there 15-20 minutes early. However, Dr. Fong is fantastic - great personality, answered all my questions, and made me feel less nervous about my check-up. She did seem a bit rushed though. I was referred to her by my general practitioner and he mentioned she is a busy doctor!

It's pretty clear Dr. Fong is overbooking so heavily that she just can't make it to patients in a timely way or spend a lot of time with any particular patient. Once she actually GETS in the room she has a kind, gentle demeanor, but she has never spent more than 5 minutes with me and I never feel very free to ask questions. I have never once received any test results or follow ups from this clinic, even when promised. I have waited so long alone in the exam room that the motion-detector lights have gone off on me several times. I have called the front desk from my cell phone several times to remind them I am in the exam room, disrobed, cold, and running out of patience. Typical wait time once you are in the clinic is about 25 minutes to get to an exam room and another 45-60 minutes to bee seen by the doctor. Awful management - would NOT recommend. I no longer see this doctor.

I am TERRIFIED of gynecologists and VERY nervous when I came in for an exam, but Dr. Fong is incredible! Very gentle, very caring. The exam was over before I knew it! She took the time to answer all my questions and was very professional. I will definitely be returning to Dr. Fong.

Dr.Fong is hands down the best OBGYN I've been to. I went for a routine visit. Yes, the wait was an hour, but it was worth it. She asked me if I had any questions/concerns and patiently answered them and continued to check with me during the check up. Her bedside manner was perfect. Dr.Fong did the fastest (but complete) exam I've ever had, as well as the least uncomfortable. I highly recommend her.

I went to the new West Village Office, and I had a 55 Minute wait... But I was a new patient and had to fill out paperwork, so part of that is to be expected. The office was difficult to find, with no real signage. The office itself is pretty normal, with a nice selection of magazines. My complaint with the waiting room is that it is quite loud. The front office seems frantic, and the phone for the office is a cell phone that does a song ring each time it rings, which was every couple minutes or so. Also, the bathroom is right by the couches, and you can hear everything going on in their... just fyi. There just was no sense of calm or quiet whatsoever. Once I was taken to a room, my experience was standard. Relatively modern equipment and clean room. One concern is privacy. The doors open, and you can see straight into the hallway, someone walking by can see you laying in the chair, and I can see right into the other exam room... There needs to be a curtain or something installed. Lastly, my experience with Dr. Fong herself was good. She was very friendly, calm and interested in learning about me and my family history. She was appropriate, quick, and interested just enough. I will go back, but hope that they take my note about the front office volume and curtains in the patient rooms to heart.

The physician asks you questions and answers them on a very professional level. She makes you feel comfortable and cared for

She's a decent doctor - thorough, knowledgable and nice - and I was willing to forgive my first 2 hour wait b/c she had evidently just come back from vacation and was backed up with appointments. However, after the second appointment and a second 2 hour wait with NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT or apology for making me wait, I likely won't see her again.

Dr. Fong was AMAZING. I read all of these reviews before I went and as soon as I was finished I knew I had to write one of my own. She was so friendly and made the entire appointment perfectly comfortable (let's be serious, who really likes going to these?) The wait was a bit long but she never rushed at all once she was with me and answered all of my questions with a smile. Finding a good obgyn in the city is like finding a good apartment and I'm never leaving Dr. Fong!

Dr. Fong was great... it was my first time and I was a bit nervous but the moment Dr. Fong walked into the room, she made me feel more at ease with her friendliness and professionalism. I really enjoyed her as a doctor, although I'm not sure if I would go back because of two reasons: 1. The front desk person was pretty friendly but it was so hard to understand her accent so it was a bit difficult in conversing with her. She also did not confirm my appointment with me and when I called, was so unorganized and pretty sure it was her cell phone and not a land line. She was very unprofessional on the phone also. 2. The front desk person had issues regarding my insurance and I was not supposed to pay a copay for my first visit but she did not understand and had to research my plan online but ended up not being able to find it... it was a mess of a problem and to make matters worse... her accent made it difficult to understand what she was trying to say... Overall, my experience was good mainly cause of Dr. Fong. She's great... if she had different front desk people, I'd go back immediately but am hesitant for now.

I'm not too happy with my visit. First, my appointment was cancelled 2 hours prior via e-mail. I took a sick day to visit her. Second, I got a blood test and she told me that I would hear back from her if there is anything wrong. (my visit was on 2/22) I just heard from her office last Friday (7/29) that my blood test came out abnormal. It took them 5 months to let me know my blood test came out abnormal. The doctor was good. But I am not happy with the office clerk.

Everything was great except for the DREADFUL wait

I decided to go to Dr Fong after I read comments of other patients and she is really very considerate. Although very busy, she took quite a time to ask me about my family health history, warn me about certain risks and examine me. I felt very comfortable and I will definitely recommend her to every woman who finds it difficult to choose the right GYN specialist. I had my previous examination back in the summer 2009 with another specialist and since then I have been looking for the right one. It took quite a time, I know...I am glad I found her! :))))

Well, let's just say I must have come on the busiest day EVER. My appointment was at 11:30 and I was brought into the room at 12:45. After the nurse took my vitals I sat (freezing!) in those paper gowns for another 15 minutes. The only saving grace in this entire process was Dr. Fong...she came in, she was nice and friendly. She made me feel comfortable right away which is huge (c'mon going to the gynecologist is awkward enough!) She never made me feel rushed and answered all my questions. And answered them thoroughly--again huge plus! I'm hoping that the long wait time was just a fluke-- Because I think she's a great doctor!

I liked her very much, but she pushed too many of her colleagues on me immediately . . . before she even examined me. She recommended a nutritionist, a breast surgeon, this one, that one and the other. Not a good idea for a first meeting. I felt it was a sales pitch for her friends, rather than just attending to me as her new patient. She is a lovely person, and I would trust her as a doctor. I hope she receives this comment in good faith.

I haven't been so pleased with a gynecologist in years. Dr Fong is exceptionally thorough and has the one of the best bedside manners I've encountered over the course of many years of doctor's visits. She makes the dreaded gyno exam easier to deal with. I moved to Brooklyn from Manhattan recently but I will continue to make the trip in to see her. She is truly a find!

Dr. Fong was great. The practice is in the heart of a sometimes shady-looking Chinatown and primarily (at least from the waiting room) serves a Chinese community. However, this shouldn't deter you at all! Dr. Fong is professional, kind, and understanding. She went through all of my options, was very pleasant, and put me at ease.

The waits here are extrememly long and this doctor has limited hours. (I have waited more than an hour on more than one occasion.) She has a gentle touch, but has sometimes made inappropriate remarks. Her staff is competent, but have lost my paperwork and neglected to notify me of certain other very important factors once or twice before. I still go to her because she is one of the better doctors who takes my insurance.

I have to agree with most people. She was gentle, friendly and personable. She answered all my questions and made me feel really comfortable which meant a lot to me. I didnt feel too rushed even though I knew she was busy. I will definitely go to her again. I may try the 5th avenue location just to see what it is like. The Market st one was fine and the ladies up front were nice enough but I do have to mention my wait was an HR. I dont know if it is normally like that or just one of those days

Office never called with the results of my first GYN appointment. So I called after a few weeks and told them I never received my results, they told me that's because there was nothing wrong with me. I told them that I still wanted the results of the check up mailed to me, they said they would send it to me and never did. I was really annoyed because I had to endure lots of intimate tests that they advised without knowing the results, or receiving any feedback about my GYN health; which was the reason I had the check up in the first place.

Dr. Fong was lovely. She was very friendly and professional and matter-of-fact. There was hardly a wait, and I was in and out of the office in less than an hour, in defiance of having to fill out ll the usual new patient paperwork.

Dr. Fong is very personable and efficient once she sees you. The wait was around 30 minutes and the front office can be a bit noisy (I went to the location in Chinatown). They only accept cash or check - no credit cards, so be aware of that when you go. I like Dr. Fong's energy a lot, so I will stick with her but next time I am going to try the new office in Greenwich Village.

She is an AMAZING doctor!!!...I am 1000000% satisfied. The office is beautiful, the staff is great and the doctor is awesome. She was not in a rush and listened to all my questions and concerns, answered all of them. I was a little nervous but she made me feel comfortable right away. I hate going to the GYN but she made this visit worth while. You can tell she really enjoys doing what she does. I will recommend her to my family and friends for sure!!

The office is very cozy and not crowded at all! Her staff is very friendly, which does not happen often in NY... Dr. Fong is very friendly too and informative. I'll recommend to my friends!

The office was nice and clean - a bit hard to find as the apt building next door is also 20 5th ave (go in the smaller door next to it). The staff were nice too, but I guess it was a busy day at the office, I waited about an hr in the waiting room and another 15 min in the exam room (where it's a bit chilly especially with no clothes on). But the dr was super nice and friendly, quick but thorough. I don't have a problem coming here again.

Dr. Fong is amazing and a great intro to my Zocdoc experience. She was thorough, informative and set an atmosphere that made it very comfortable to ask questions. There was NO feeling of being rushed, which is not the norm in these days of managed care. I really cannot recommend her highly enough. Office is spotless and staff are courteous and appeared well organized.

Dr. Fong is a great doctor. Her clinic however is very disorganized and always makes me wait over 30 minutes for our appointment. But her professionalism and care about my well-being always gets me coming back. She also refills your prescription over the phone, which is an added bonus.

She is warm, friendly, professional and made me feel completely at ease talking about some of my medical issues. And I agree with another patient that she is like a big sister, friend and auntie all rolled up in one wonderful package. I absolutely love her and would recommend her to any of my friends. :) The wait was a bit annoying but I worked around it by working off of my iPhone. There were emergencies she had to attend to in the morning, so it was understandable.

The office we went to was in the depths of chinatown and the other patients were all chinese speaking women. I think that she has another office on Fifth Avenue which would have been much more convenient.

Dr. Fong is a very professional and knowlegeable doctor. She listened to all my problema and gave advice. There were no rush. I waited for 15 min. I do recomend this doctor.

Dr. Fong is very professional. She listens carefully to her patients and she gives you time, you don't feel rushed. She makes you feel confortable. She has very good hands...you will feel no pain for blood test or pelvic exam. Her staff is very polite and warm. The facility is very clean and organized.

Dr. Fong was courteous and friendly, quick, but not abrupt. However, her nurse made me wait while she took a call about her water bill in between taking my height/weight and my blood pressure - not very professional!

The wait was longer than expected but the doctor was very informative and friendly.

It had been some time since I had seen a gyn, but Dr. Fong made the transition as painless and personable as possible. Her friendly manner helps put one at ease and patients feel as though they have all the time in the world to talk about whatever issues are at he forefront as well as ones they may be reticent to discuss. I suspect that when more and more patients learn of Dr. Fong, booking appointments may not be as quick as it was for this visit.

I think the Dr. is friendly, professional, and eager to answer questions. I thoroughly appreciated her bedside manner. The downside: I had to wait over 2 hours to see her, and her staff would not heed my request to have her call me back about something.

The doctor is AMAZING! I have to be honest and say that the wait time was not pleasant, but the doctor and her approach are amazing! =] I will definitely be going back to her wherever she is.
