This appointment was average at best. The doctor (once I was seen) was somewhat accommodating, but I felt that his bedside manner was sub-par. On several occasions, I felt somewhat insulted by the Dr. I also thought it was strange that he was yelling at and counseling his front desk staff in front of a full waiting room. This should have been done in private or after closing. Although my exam accomplished what I needed, it was likely the least thorough exam I have ever had (which says a lot as former government employee).
The entire appointment felt like I was keeping from something, it was very rushed and he kept cutting me off after asking me questions.
As a new patient, I arrived half an hour early to fill out all the paperwork. I was told to sit and wait and so I did for nearly 15 minutes BEFORE I was given the forms required, which by the way, were completely standard boiler plate form with completely generic questions totally unrelated to his specialty. After filling those forms, another 15 minutes went by before I was taken to a room by the assistant to measure my weight and blood pressure, the latter of which took her 2 tries with an electronic machine. Apparently the wrap that goes in the arm was to hard for her to install properly. Later I was taken to another room and asked all the questions that I had already answered in the initial forms. Again! Not to be surprised I got very annoyed with the lack of professionalism and experience of the assistant. She then left and told me to wait that the doctor would be in "soon". I waited for about 20 more minutes before I started hearing the doctor right outside chatting the staff up for another 10 minutes before walking in the room. No apologies for his delay, no "sorry I had an emergency", nothing. At this point, I was about45 minutes past my appointment time and the dr. shows up with one of the buttons in his shirt missing which left me in full view of his belly button. Completely unacceptable. I took everything I had not to run out the door, which is what I should've done from the beginning when my gut told me so. His questions were as inane as the assistant's and his "filler talk" totally irritating. I mean, if you are an hour and a half late, sorry but I don't fill like talking to you about the political situation in cuba and who wrote what book. Oh! Forgot to mention that in the middle of the consult we were interrupted 4 times by the staff; twice for signatures and twice for him to take a call. I guess the have to "catch him when they can". Needless to say I won't be going there again. EVER! And you'd should stay away from his practice.
