Couldn't have been happier with my first appointment with Dr. Palep. She engages with you as a person and looks at you while she speaks as opposed to staring at a computer screen. She explains all of your options very clearly without making you feel pressured one or way or the other and she made me feel that she had all the time in the world to talk and address any concerns I might have had.

I had to wait for an hour after my scheduled appointment time before I was seen. I arrived 10 minutes early so it felt like an unnecessary amount of time to be waiting. Once the Dr. came in she made sure my concerns were adressed and we worked out a treatment plan that made me feel comfortable, and set up a follow-up appointment. this is a busy practice, so finding a time to come in is often tricky.

I really like this Dr. The location is great, the office is great. However, there are a set of forms that had to be filled prior to the consultation; insurance and such. The last of these forms was a 20-30 set of fees and charges that needed to be initialized. A fee for this and a fee for that, random fees. It read a lot like the fine print you'd find at a bank. It was odd.

Such a good experience! First of all- the office is really pretty and they have free coffee/water/etc. Receptionist was very friendly and professional and I was taken back right away. Most amazing doctor I've ever met. Her bedside manner was beyond excellent. She was thee most thorough dermatologist I've ever visited as well. I had melanoma when I was 15 and have seen a few dermatologists since them for check-ups, never had one as completely thorough as her. She even caught some pre cancerous skin legions that no one had thought anything of before and offered to freeze them off the same day but my schedule didn't allow me. Only bummer is I couldn't get in with her for a follow-up for two months so I booked with another doctor who I'm sure will be excellent. There's a reason this office is so highly rated! Couldn't be happier :)

She seemed very nice, but I wish I could rave about her like everyone else on here. I felt that she didn't spend enough time with me to really understand how my skin works (diet, life style), and she didn't even do the thorough skin examination. She dismissed me current facial regime and put me on her standard acne treatment (which isn't working out very well)...and it sucks that she booked like 2 months advance! It's unfortunate that finding the right acne medicine is just as difficult as finding a good derm.

First time patient, so this review is based on my one experience. Dr. Sapna Palep = Great bedside manner, courteous, took the time to explain things. Wish I had more time with her since this was my first visit to also talk about current skin care and condition and get an overall assessment/reco from her. We only covered the general yearly skin check, so perhaps another visit would be different. Office/staff = Really nice and timely. Had plenty of reminders to ensure I was on time and prepared with paperwork, etc. However, their internet was down and I couldn't book my follow up appointment. The receptionist said she would call me to book the appointment once the internet went back up but she never did.

I saw Dr. Palep for a hormonal acne problem. She was extremely kind and knowledgable. I felt like I was at a relaxing spa, rather than a lifeless doctor's office (even the elevator smells great!). I had read really great reviews about Spring Street Dermatology and about Dr. Palep but the actual visit was even better. I appreciate that they give you the opportunity to complete forms in advance, which allowed them to see me right away. The nurse took detailed notes of why I was there and when Dr. Palep came in she had already been briefed by the nurse. Dr. Palep spent close to an hour with me, was extremely informative and patient. I was really blown away by how down to earth and thoughtful she was. She took the time to let me explain my situation/symptoms and diagnosed me quickly but I appreciated that she took the time to explain why this was the diagnosis and explain the cause of the symptoms to me. I have been to other dermatologists where they diagnose you without even taking the time to listen to you, and you feel steamrolled. At the end of the visit, she encouraged me to make a follow up visit and offered for me to email her if I had any questions. I was really apprehensive about visiting a dermatologist, but this was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend Sprint Street Dermatology.

I was the first appt of the day and waited about 5 or so min (I was also there early). But staff is very nice and friendly, and not stuffy so the wait time is more enjoyable. I made sure to wait on this review until I had seen whether she really helped my acne, and boy she did! I decided to do only external treatments, which have probably been a bit more painful than just going for the antibiotic would've been, but regardless my skin has gotten so much better! Dr. Palep is a wonderful dermatologist. I've been seeing her for 6 months. She listens to patient concerns and is always upfront about what to expect from different dermatological treatments. I wouldn't trust my skin to anyone else.

I felt very comfortable working with Dr. Palep. She was patient and informative about the various conditions that I presented with (laser hair removal and brittle nails). The Administrative Assistant was friendly and helpful about providing a letter for my work. The office was well kept and beautifully decorated, which is quite a rarity and a luxury when visiting a doctors office. I arrived 15 minutes early and she saw me right at our scheduled time.

I don't usually like going to see any doctor but from the moment I stepped into the office, I was made to feel welcome. The appointment was thorough and never rushed. All my questions were answered thoughtfully. I definitely will be recommending her to all my friends.

(*wink*) Seriously, though, as much as one can like a visit to a doctor's office, I liked my visit here. The offices are new and well-located. The decor is tasteful and modern with white leather seating, fresh flower arrangements, a crystal chandelier, large mirrors and exposed brick - very nice. They are also located on the top floor of the building (elevator, thankfully), so the exam rooms all have skylights, which is pretty fantastic because they provide ample natural light. If you saw my immediately previous review, I booked this appointment through ZocDoc, which is itself a wonderful service. As you can see, they have Saturday appointments, which is also in and of itself a miracle. Today I saw Dr. Palep, a youthful woman who is incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and completely understanding of my concerns for having to pay big $$$ for prescriptions. Oh, and in terms of diagnosis, apparently I didn't get enough of the zit lifestyle when I was a teenager because it appears I may now be suffering from hormonal acne. OH JOY. Anyway, Dr. Palep was super nice and explained that there can unfortunately be adult onset of hormonal acne at basically any time. She also gave me a TON of samples to use (instead of writing me an Rx and having to pay for it), so now I have something to combat these suckers. I made a follow up appointment with her to see how this regimen turns out (and to get more samples!), and she will also do a full body check at that time, too. I really liked this practice and Dr. Palep. They offer beverages in the lobby/waiting area, the receptionist is friendly, and the waiting room and exam rooms appeal to my sense of the aesthetic. I felt that maybe the assistant could use a little more training...I felt like she didn't quite understand what I was saying when I said I had an allergy to sulfa (she instead wrote down "sulfur"). Also, when she asked if I had a history of medical problems and I said "it depends on what you define as a "problem,"" she pretty much gave me a blank stare. I explained that I didn't know if she wanted a complete medical history (e.g., I once had an allergic reaction to this and this lotion) or only something big (e.g., I had melanoma). As this is a new practice, maybe ease with this type of interaction will come with practice. Regardless, because of the personal attention paid to me by Dr. Palep, I didn't think the assistant contact was all that necessary anyway, so I'm not overly bothered by that initial interaction. I ended up arriving around 11:10 for my 11:15 appointment. I had already printed out and completed the new patient form available on their website. I was in an exam room by 11:20 and speaking with the assistant at that time, and then I only had to wait til maybe 11:30/11:35 to see Dr. Palep. Overall, considering the wait time epidemic that is common in Manhattan, I'm happy with the efficiency here. I recommend this practice and Dr. Palep (and the use of ZocDoc to book the appointment!). I'll be back.
