Dr. Alter is attentive, caring, thorough and you never feel rushed during your appointment. I was her first appt - hence the very short wait time.

I thought the office was amazing. The prenatal care from my first pregnancy was horrendous--this office was worlds better. However, it would have been nice to hear from this office that I am not pregnant and am suffering some other mystery illness rather than to be left hanging. I mean, I am still sick even if I'm not pregnant.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's office. Since she works in two offices, I should clarify I went to the Williamsburg office, and many of my gripes had to do with them in particular. It was the most inefficient process with checking in and going through all the steps I have ever taken part in. I arrived early because I was a new patient and still left two hours later for an appointment that has taken 10 minutes tops for the four years I've been doing it (birth control). Everyone was very rude (I heard them yelling at multiple patients over the phone and they were very short with me). When I met with Dr. Alter, she was highly judgmental, aggressive and rude. I started crying halfway through my meeting with her (the first time I had met her) and kept crying for the next hour that it took to actually get my birth control shot done and on my walk home. I will never go back there or see her at the other place. Just don't go there. Trust me.

The reviews that I read before going to see Dr. Alter were very complimentary. Yet, when I arrived for my appointment, she was anything but the understanding, compassionate doctor that I thought she would be. I was very disappointed, to say the least. She made some comments that I felt were judgmental, which made me feel very uncomfortable to be in her presence. When I left I vowed never to go back, and I have stayed true to my word.
